6 Months Old

Sweet baby Jane is 6 months old today! As you can see, Janie has just become aware of some recent weight gain that came as quite a shock~

Should a 6 month old be able to pinch an inch? I think so too :) Anyways, I feel like I have become a broken record on Jane's monthly celebrations, but she really is still the sweetest little baby. She is content and calm and smiley~

She is adored by both of her siblings who dote on her endlessly.

In the past week she has gone from fairly immobile with just the occasional roll to constantly rolling, spinning on her tummy and even trying to get up onto her knees. She has managed to get some forward motion, but that has still got a long way to go :)

Jane has developed her own ways to get your attention if she feels like it has been too long since you have adored her. She went through a fake coughing stage where she would go until you looked at her and then she'd flash you a huge grin. We went to a movie the other day and she coughed when I covered her eyes during a preview I didn't want her to see (at Madagascar 3... seriously?). She coughed randomly during the movie and I would turn her around to see me and she'd just smile.

Now she makes this popping noise with her bottom lip when she feels she's not being properly acknowledged :)

Jane enjoys starting laughing wars with her sister in the car.. she'll laugh at look at Lizzie who will laugh back and they will go back and forth whipping themselves into a frenzy of mirth... It's kind of awesome.

We love our sweet Jane and we are so blessed to have her in our family!

Micah and Mommy date~

Yesterday, I put Lizzie down for a nap and left Jane with Nate (who was working at home) and headed off for some Micah and Mommy time at a paint your own pottery place out here in Katy.... He loved it!

Micah was so intent on his painting, it was almost funny. He didn't ask for help (which he does a lot while coloring... I'm trying to break the habit :) and he didn't seem flustered at all!

We did hit an unexpeted snag when I had to explain to him that we had to leave our plates behind so that they could bake in a very hot oven and get shiny.... he was VERY concerned that the oven would burn his plate :) I'm crossing my fingers that everythings goes well and it doesn't break in the kiln... If it does I might just casually never mention it to him.. just sayin :)

First Solids

Yes folks, it's that time again... time to introduce solids... bum bum bum!!

As you can see, Janie was thrilled at the prospect as well :) Babies somehow seem to instinctually know that they are going to like their first solids....

What's not to love about formula mixed up with tasteless flakes of rice? Oh... never mind. As Jane says below, "You've GOT to be kidding me!"

Wait, I'm supposed to take another bite?

Well, maybe it's not so bad.....

Um, how much of this do you expect me to consume exactly?

She figured if she shut tight then we'd just give up.

Here today, gone tomorrow

More like there yesterday, gone today... We are finally redoing our shower! It was not a matter of aesthetics, it was just plain broken. I can't wait to see what it looks like by the end of this week! For now, here are our before and 1 day in photos.

Growing up Fast

I love this little girl so much that it actually hurts sometimes.... I'm going to miss having a baby around the house when she gets older :(

I found this super lovely fabric at Joann Fabrics in the 4th of July section~

I think this proves that the Joann buyer has questionable taste. Due to the lack of right-wing fabric, I think we can also guess that the buyer believes in big government ;-)

It never ceases to amaze me what God can do on the side of the highway :)

Lizzie is potty trained!!! Can I just say, it is WAY easier to train a girl than it was to train a boy. It's been a week and a half since we started training and she is pretty much fully trained... Nap time and night time included. She has only had an accident on one day out of the last 8 days and we've done church and multiple errands with no problem! Having only one kid in diapers has been so great and we are so proud of our Lizzie Boo!
