Feels like it’s been a while since this topic was brought up, and so much has happened since then. TNSR has really filled out but I’m sure there’s other features our users would love see in future releases. So with that said, please share your feature requests here and let’s see what we can do! —pfGeorge

So I have gone down an absolute rabbit hole with this one but turns out my DNS in general setup didn't have a gateway so the alias was failing to work in a responsive time. Things seem to be working now as I created the NAT's just with an IP which was when I went that way. I feel so stupid as everything else was working although when I look at it now I have had some DNS issues recently. Will review things with fresh eyes tomorrow and go from there.

Sorry for bumping this old topic but I recently found a solution to this so I am sharing it in the event other users may be looking for a similar solution. I happen to be on the same configuration as well. In Suricata 7.0.8, there is no official way to do this through the webConfigurator, so you will have to step into the php code. Edit the file at /usr/local/pkg/suricata/suricata_defs.inc and look for the following line: if (!defined('SURICATALOGDIR')) define('SURICATALOGDIR', "{$g['varlog_path']}/suricata/"); change it to the following: if (!defined('SURICATALOGDIR')) define('SURICATALOGDIR', "whatever/path/you/want/suricata/"); e.g. /pfsense/logs/suricata Take note that Paths are case sensitive (easy to forget if you don't work with *nix systems regularly), create the directory first BEFORE you define this setting; This move ain't covered by warranty and you are on your own. If it breaks anything else don't come looking for me! It works for me, so...; When the suricata package is upgraded, this setting will be wiped so you must re-set the parameter after an upgrade. Restart pfSense. You can then check the contents of the directory that you pointed to ensure the log files are being written there.

It looks like unified web management could be coming soon. It would be great if it means easier control and management of all web services in one place. Let's see if any companies announce more details about it!

I am way late to this thread... but I am so, incredibly, over netgate at this point. Trying to unbrick my SG1100 for the 4th time? 5th time? I am litearlly 0/5 on physical devices, every single one has bricked itself at some point, 2 of which needed RMA's. For the final time (getting a device ready for sale as I have moved entirely off netgate), the latest OS needs an internet connection to flash from a putty terminal?!?! This is in-sane. For anyone reading this in the future, just dump your netgate devices - the level of frustration these have caused me, my family, and my poor friends I recomended them to is unreal. /rant Netgate - do better. This is a disgrace to networking infrastructure.
