From Birth to Death

I got a call on Wednesday morning of this week from Microsoft.  The HR lady said Microsoft wanted to offer me the support position at an awesome salary that breaks six figures.  I immediately said, “I accept.” and she laughed and said maybe I should wait to hear the full offer.  The offer was awesome, too, with all kinds of great benefits.

I will be on a team of three people supporting a software application that hooks into three other major applications, so there’s plenty to learn.  My team mates have been doing the job for 11 and 9 years, which means this could be a full time, long term gig that I will enjoy.  I am very excited about it and HB keeps telling me “This is a big deal.”  I have to agree.

HB and I drove up to Lville yesterday to paint her new office.  Her parents had already prepped the room and laid down two layers of primer.  We dropped one coat on yesterday afternoon and another this morning before driving back down.  This after Heather spent all day Friday puking sick from bad spinach.

I interviewed for a Microsoft job on Dec. 16th, 2010 and I’m waiting to hear back from them.  I was told I would hear back by the end of the second week in January because they are interviewing a “handful” of other candidates.  The job skills are so specialized that there MIGHT be two other people applying, so I’m on pins and needles waiting to hear and everyone at work keeps asking me if I’ve heard yet.  No, not yet.

HB and I watched some of the Pirates II porn movie she got me for my birthday on Wednesday.   She gave me a hand job and I came so forcefully, I hit my own mouth.  And then we laughed.  A lot.

Dosage.  I went back for my three week check-in with the psychiatrist and basically said the 20mg of Celexa that he prescribed (same dose I had 10 years ago) wasn’t working.  He upped the dosage to 40mg and I have been feeling great ever since.  It just amazes me how my outlook on just about everything, not the least of which is work, has changed since the dose started taking effect.  It’s very cool to be so positive again.  HB said she keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop and me have a huge bad mood, but so far, so good!

Drugs.  I am officially back on anti-depressants.  Woohoo!!!  I’m not kidding; I’m really glad to be back after 9 years and I’m happy to see everyone.  I’ve been getting crazier and crazier over the past several months and while I’m not back to having panic attacks again, I decided to get back on drugs because I will function better on them at this point.  I saw the same psychiatrist as last time and he even recognized me.  He agreed that I should go back on Celexa which is now generic and didn’t mention anything about having to go to therapy which I was relieved about, because I didn’t want to take the time or spend the money.  I spent all of 15 minutes in his office and paid my $90 and got my 30 day Celexa prescription which I filled last night at Walgreens.  HB picked it up for me on her way home.  I had a little tiny bit of queasy tummy last night and just a hint of insomnia this morning.  I’m looking forward to feeling like a human being again.

HB and I got our funk on this morning and banged like we were teenagers.  After it was all over, she called me Studly McFuckpants.  God, I love my wife.

The Voice of Doom vs the Voice of Chastisement.

HB and I picked up a college friend of hers, Shannon, and Shannon’s partner from the airport on Sunday and took them out to eat before delivering them back for their flight. On the way home, HB and I were talking about yelling at the cats when they do something wrong and it’s usually Sukkha that we are yelling at.  HB has the “Voice of Doom” where when she yells, the cats scatter.  HB made fun of me because when I “yell” it sounds more like chastising.  I said I figured the damage was already done and there’s no point in getting upset about one cat picking on another, so I use a less energetic voice.  That’s when HB said she had the voice of doom, the VOD, and I had the voice of chastisement, the VOC.

Our new washing machine arrived today.  I was at work, but HB called to let me know and that she was testing it.  This is a high efficiency model which will supposedly only use 15 gallons per load rather than the standard 40.

HB and I bought a new washing machine at the scratch and dent place today.  It’ll be delivered Monday, July 8th.

HB and I went to Orlando for four days from May 9 to May 12.  We went to Sea World, Discovery Cove, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, and Sea World again.

Phone. HB got cell phone for her father as an added line to her account and I was surprised that her father actually accepted it.  It’s the most basic phone Samsung makes and I asked HB for the name so I could look it up.  She said ” It’s a simple name, like Snatch or Schmuck.”  So we chuckled about that for a while.  I did find the phone and it’s actually called a Knack.

Pot.  I tried the Neti Pot HB bought for me at Walgreens yesterday.  It made me laugh hard enough that I almost snorted the salt solution when it started pouring out the other nostril.

Work.  I hate talking about it because even when I’m not talking about it, I’m thinking about it.  I’ve been at my “new” job a little over 1.5 years now.  HB told me the other day, again, that if I want to do something else or get a job somewhere else that I should.  This after we waited 14 months to from contractor to full time employee and that only happened 3 months ago.

Dinner.  Ever since Dad gave me his 1995 Ford Contour, I have been driving it to work rather than biking.  With that, or at about from about six weeks ago, I started going over for dinner once a week and I think my parents like that.  Sometimes when I leave they come out with me onto the porch and keep right on talking.

Nazi.  HB  called me a light nazi tonight because I turn off the lights if no one is in the room.  She said that if my vision were as bad as hers, I would understand why she leaves the lights on.  “If we had night lights, I wouldn’t have to leave the lights on” she tells me.  So says, I says, “Who is stopping you from buying night lights?”  Then she tells me she’s going to update her facebook status with the information that I’m a light nazi and I beat her too it.  Haha!

In-laws.  The in-laws are coming for a hit and run visit.  They will stay the night and we may go shooting this afternoon.

Permit.  I renewed my carry permit on Friday.  HB is still trying to work up the nerve to carry now that she has a permit as well.
