What we do

front-LEX is a team of lawyers dedicated to the protection of the fundamental rights of people on the move. We specialize in strategic litigation, challenging European Union migration policies.  We also provides legal assistance to individuals affected by these practices. A key goal of front-LEX is to ensure accountability of EU institutions, including Frontex.

More than 52,000 people have died at European borders since 2014.

These deaths occurred under the oversight, and in some cases the direct actions, of European Union and states authorities. This figure is largely underestimated and does not account for the tens of thousands of people who have been victims of unlawful and extreme violence.
