Go Go Power Rangers!!!

I think I was one of my most favorite halloween costumes this year.. a power ranger!!!  It was pretty sweet!  Last night Annie, Laura, Aubrey, and I went to a few different Halloween parties to show off our sweet costumes.  Halloween is so fun! I love it.  Seeing all of the different costumes was great.  Here are just a few pictures of our fun night:

It's official

Yup...it's official... It is a monthly occurrence that I either lock my keys in the car or leave my lights on.  I walked out to my car after work and school today (and rather quickly too because it was freezing!) only to find that..yes...I indeed left my lights on.  And I dont know HOW I managed to do that because my mom texted me this morning as I was leaving that I had the lights on to the car and reminded me to turn them off when I reached school.  So I got to school, flipped the lights off (or so I thought) AND even walked around to the front of the car to see if they were off. I totally thought I had my bases covered and I still swear I switched them off.. Therefore I have logically concluded...it was Satan...hahaha.. yup.. totally not my fault.. haha kidding... Anyway, I managed to make it four weeks without having an incident of leaving my lights on or locking my keys in the car and I will let you know how long this next streak goes... maybe I will make it five week without another incident!...Time will tell...

Fall Break!!!

Fall Break! Hallelujah, you are only 15 minutes away!  Oh course I am at work right now waiting for my 6 pm tutoring appointment where everyone else canceled for the day due to the wonderful occasion of fall break...except for my very LAST appointment....So instead of being able to start my fall break 4 hours ago I must wait.... but there is light at the end of the tunnel!!! And although I have a test and huge assignment I will be doing over fall break, I will still get to sleep in and have time to myself to do the things I want to! Oh the blessings of school breaks!! :)

Welcome home Kinny!!!!

This last weekend one of my great friends, Kinny, came home from his mission.  It has been SO fun to catch up with him.  I remember while he was gone feeling like some days lasted forever and I just wanted him home!  Alas, the day is here and it feels like he never left! (Time is so weird...)  Now everyone is starting to come home and pretty soon Braedon will be home!!!!  I love all my other friends on missions but lets be honest... I am most excited for him! haha....

Anyway, it has been great talking to Kinny and hearing all of his fun mission stories.  He was a wonderful missionary and I am sure the people of Sweden miss him but I am glad to have him back!

Let the stress begin...

So... Fall semester has started and only three days into I feel stressed...wonderful!... I guess that is what I get for deciding to take 6 classes, and working part time, but I just keep thinking, "It will all be worth it once it is over!"  However, on the bright side, I love all my professors and I love what I am learning.. If I could just do away with the two physics classes, life would be good....Okay, now I am done complaining and will be positive the rest of the semester...hopefully.. :)

Summer break

Friday, August 13 was my Physics final and since then I have been in heaven!  I have NOTHING to do and I cannot remember the last time that has happened to me...maybe like..when I was ten.  Anyway, it has been wonderful getting a break from things and being able to have fun without that guilty feeling of knowing I should be studying instead of playing. 

One of the funnest things I've been able to do is hang out with the Rosas family, Naty Bailon, and Cindy.  They are all people Braedon was able to teach and meet in San Diego.  I have had the opportunity to go to a rodeo, learn how to cook some FaNtaStiC Mexican food, go on hikes, watch movies, and hear fun stories about Braedon (he sounds like he is doing so great out there..so so happy for him)!  So, it has been a great weekend!  I just love this family to death too!  They are wonderful people and I am so happy Braedon and his companion, Justin Hanks, were able to meet this family and bring them into the church.  And being with these people has strengthened my testimony like crazy too because of how dedicated they are to the gospel.  They are just wonderful people and I am glad to have gotten the opportunity to spend some time with them.

Neglection of the Blog....

Ok.. I know you all have been wondering, "When is Virginia going to put her next post up?  I am dying to know what she is up to.." hahaha.. kidding.  However, it looks like this blog thing is turning out about the same as my journal entries...which means one post every month and a half... fantastic.. but I will get better!  (At least that is what I tell myself).  Since I have been MIA for the last month in the blog world I will give a quick update of the more meaningful events that have taken place..So ready, set, go!

1.  This is probably the biggest/most fun thing that happened.  My sister and her family came to town!  It was a BLAST!  Loved every minute of it.  Fishing, swimming, Garrett singing and playing the guitar to the most HiLaRiOuS songs he wrote (I was laughing for a good ten minutes...still makes me smile thinking about it), making a fort with my niece in the front room, going to the park, The Stadium of Fire, staying up until one in the morning playing a video game we (my sister, dad and I) became addicted to, and even pulling out Steph's wedding dress to see if she could still fit in it (and she still does!..skinny girl) were just of few of the fun things we all did together...(side note... Kenzie just HAD to try on the "pretty princess dress" after seeing her mommy in it).

As you can see, having Steph, Garrett, and the girls here was the best and though people may think differently, I really DO miss the constant noise, attention, and exhaustion a three and one-year old bring to the table. :)

2.  It was my wonderful friend's birthday, Annie!  I love that girl!  We have had some great times together and we got to celebrate her day by going to 7 Peaks (and I think that is the first time I have been there since I was in junior high...).  Then after 7 Peaks and hit up Brick Oven. It was also Britn's birthday too so we got to celebrate two birthdays in one meal! (and that meant two free desserts too! Woot!)  It was a great day and I got to be out in the sun really for the first time this summer.  (I know it is pathetic, but that is what summer school does to you... leaves you white, pasty, but I know Physics!..haha...)

3.  And the last major event for the month of June (and July...man I really did neglect the blogging...) was Aly Tucker's (now Hansen!) wedding reception!  She was a beautiful bride!  It was so great seeing everyone again too.  Oh and the best part...when Aly threw the boquet, it went into about 10 pieces, so everyone was to catch apart of it!!! Except... Me!!!! hahaha.. I think it may be a sign....)   Anyway, it was a fantasitc wedding and congrats to Aly! :)

So.. this has been month in a nutshell (a kind or small one...)  Oh and one more thing!  One of my best friends, Aubrey, went to Thailand... without me!! Ridiculous.... and she went for a month and a half!.. I miss her!  I dont know what to do without her sometimes..haha.. but I can handle it....  Okay well now that is all I have to say! :)

Countdown!

My parents were able to go out to San Francisco to visit my sister and her family.  Garrett, my brother-in-law, is graduating from dental school!  Yeah!!!  He has worked so hard and I am really happy for him.  I was sad I couldn't join my parents on the trip due to summer school (boooooo!) but it is getting me more excited for when they come out here!!  Only 1 week and I will be able to hang out with the two most adorable girls in the world, laugh until my stomach hurts with Steph, and go on hikes with Garrett. 

I am SO excited I cant stand it!!!! (And I think my school work is suffering due to the excitement and not wanting to do anything except for plan what I am going to do when they get here...real productive.. I know...) So.. let the fun begin!!! (in one week).....

Ignorance is Bliss

Someone remind me why I am taking classes in the summer?... Especially when it is Physics?!.. I think I would be okay if it were a summer full of education classes, but Physics is just not my thing.  Plus, this Physics class has increased my fear of roller coasters... If you are not yet aware.. I am terrified of roller coasters.. The last roller coaster I went on was Wicked at Lagoon and don't worry.. I cried.... Yes, I know I am a whimp but something about getting in the little cart, hearing the click of the massive steal "seatbelt" and knowing there is no turning back kind of freaks me out.  So of course today in class, my teacher had to explain the physics behind a roller coaster and how if they are not met then the cart becomes unhooked from the track and bye bye people on the ride... perfect....I can just see myself the next time I am at an amusement park looking around at all the rides with terror due to both the actual rides and the physics equations running through my head telling me what happens if one of the rides malfunction!.. Beautiful....

Anyway, I have decided summer school is just bad for my health and I should quit... I should become naive to such things as physics and my life will happier.... The end...

ONE YEAR!!!

So, good news.. It's been one year since Braedon has left for his mission! YAHOOO!!!  (He is serving in the California, San Diego mission speaking Spanish).  I remember when he first left wishing it was already his year mark and now, it's here!!  Just one more year and I get my best friend back.  Now I get to start counting downwards... awesome! 

This past year has been fun though. I LOVE reading his letters, seeing him progress, and just getting to know Braedon in a different way.  I love that it has been a year and I still feel just as close to him.  What an awesome person he is!  I love him to death and can't WAIT until this time next year when he will be coming home! Yahoo!!! :)
