AetherShell is an open-source platform that brings your Nintendo DSi sketches to life over the internet. By connecting 20-year-old handheld hardware to a modern app, your drawings are interpreted, animated, made to dance & projected into your physical space using AR.
AetherShell is an unofficial fan project. Please read the Legal Disclaimer regarding third-party tools and Nintendo trademarks.
The first stable release for macOS is now live.
Support for Windows and Linux is currently in development and coming soon.
- Zero-Lag Sketching: Draw naturally on your DSi touch screen.
- AR Integration: View your creations through the official iOS Companion App.
- Standalone Execution: No Python or Java installation required for the macOS release.
I am looking for contributors to help expand the AetherShell ecosystem.
How to contribute:
- Fork the repository.
- Create a feature branch.
- Submit a Pull Request for review.
Note: As the project maintainer, I manually review and approve all merges into the main branch to ensure system stability.
Current Roadmap:
- Windows Standalone Release
- Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) Support
- Android Companion APP
- Ifrastructure for AI implementation is already set up, refer dev logs.
