Baseball
1st MSU player to reach the Major Leagues
He was a 1980 MIAA Rookie of the Year, two-time All-American,
​and helped lead the team to the 1982 NCAA Division II World Series
In 133 games, he compiled a .369 batting average, 22 home runs, and 146 RBIs.
Basketball
Over 73 games across three seasons, Mark accumulated over 500 points and 300 rebounds.

MLB
Played in the Major Leagues with the Houston Astros and San Francisco Giants
Over his career, he compiled a .220 batting average, 24 home runs, and 101 RBIs in 340 games
Caught 64 starts by Nolan Ryan including Ryan's 4,000th career strikeout
Mark was a coach for many years in the Houston Astros system

Raised $3,280 for Howard’s Table. $500 of that money will be used to fund a scholarship for a graduating female Glendale student this year. Now the Howard “Dinger” Bell Scholarship will award a $500 scholarship to both and male and female athlete
