GLOK is a playful twist on “geo-locate” – think of it as your digital safety flare! While it might sound like a certain famous firearm (we promise, no bullets here!), GLOK is all about connection. To “glok yourself” means sharing your location with trusted helpers. To “glok someone” is to find them quickly and lend a hand. 

Life’s unpredictable. Whether you’re stranded with a flat tire, need backup in a sketchy situation, or just want peace of mind at a crowded event, GLOK turns strangers into guardians and friends into heroes. We’re rebuilding trust, one emergency alert at a time.

You are! A GLOKer is anyone who cares enough to help or brave enough to ask for it. No capes required – just a willingness to be there for others.

Create Your Crew: Build a group of watchers, your security squad – we call them your “GLOK Crew”. Start by inviting your friends and adding them to your Crew. 

Hit the Big Red Button: In a pinch, tap the big red button 🔴. GLOK instantly shares your location and sends a loud alert to your crew. Add Details: If the situation allows, tell your crew exactly what you need – gas, medical help, or just a friendly face.

Future Upgrades: Soon, you’ll be able to create multiple crews (like “Family Guardians” or “Conference Buddies” or „Bodyguards“) for different needs!

Spread the safety love! After installing GLOK, tap Invite/Share and send the link to friends, family, or that coworker who always has your back They will need to install GLOK app as well and create a new account (unless they are already Nostr users – in such case they can just log in with the nostr identity).

Nostr is like a privacy superhero! It’s a new network technology that lets GLOK work without tracking you or storing your private data. Translation: No creepy continuous surveillance like some other tracker apps or tracking devices, no corporate servers with your full name and address, no hackers shutting us down. Newbies: Pick a nickname, tap Create Account, and you’re in! Don’t forget to back up your account – we can’t recover your data should you lose your phone device.

Nostr Pros: Log in with your existing nsec key, nsec bunker or Amber. Easy-peasy!

1. Invite people: Add trusted folks to your contact list.
2. Create a new Crew by clicking on …
3. Try a practice alert! Pro tip: Add “Just testing – don’t panic! 😅” to avoid frantic calls.
4. Customize Crew: Rename it, add an avatar, add or remove members under Settings > Crews.

Crew List: like a hidden email copies — your crew gets alerts but can’t see each other. Perfect for discreet help.

Crew Group: a group button allows you to create a circle of friends who know about each other. In emergency they can all communicate together to provide their help effectively.

Yes! We never see or store your location. When you glok yourself, your GPS data gets encrypted and sent out through the nostr to your pre-approved contact list. We at GLOK can’t read those encrypted messages.

Sometimes you are on the other side of the world. But your fellow GLOKers can still send help, either share your alert publicly to other GLOKer volunteers nearby (coming soon) or contact police where you are.
