Meet the members of our Alliance

The Greater Manchester Women’s Support Alliance (GMWSA) is made up of nine women’s centres across the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. Our centres offer support for all women, no matter what challenges they might be facing.

We’re proud to show our Impact Report for 2024-2025 – Thank you to everyone across GMWSA who works hard every day to support women across Greater Manchester.

A lovely example of how our member centres do their best to ensure service users feel comfortable to share their experiences by creating a warm, welcoming environment and providing relaxing activities, such as art! 🎨🩷

Some good news to share: women who have been convicted and jailed over illegal abortions are to be pardoned after a vote in the House of Lords. This is a monumental change as those who had been convicted were sometimes children, survivors of domestic abuse or human trafficking or had experienced a natural pregnancy loss. As a result, women had to relive their trauma and were limited in opportunities afterwards due to their criminal record.

We welcome the Women’s Justice Board recommendations and the accompanying £31.6 million investment in community-based women’s services.

Our Health and Partnerships Manager, Erykah, recently delivered trauma training to trainee psychotherapists and counsellors at Stockport Women's Centre! 🌻
