The Ellis cousins

Image
Here they are all 11 of them...there will be 13 by the end of June, unless Lynzie still needs to tell us something!!! By the way, Jen found out she is having a girl and I hopefully get to find out in three weeks. Let's pray the baby still likes to be spread eagle!

No need for dreaming...

we had a white Christmas! It snowed all day long. It was really pretty. Check out the accumulation on the roof of the girls' playhouse. The guys enjoyed snowmaching in all the fresh powder in the evening.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas. The girls loved their gifts and shrieked at everyone of them. Avery would tear them open and then sign more, more. She had a blast. We spent the morning at our house and then went to Gramma and Grampa's for the big Ellis gathering. We were able to talk to Ryan's little brother Casey, who is serving a mission in CA. He sounded great! It was a wonderful day.

12 week check up

Image
Here is our little alien at 12 weeks. When the DR put the wand on my stomach the first shot she got was the baby spread eagle. She said oh...I sure wish you were 4 weeks further along, I could totally tell you what you are having. She said crotch shots don't get much better than that, there was no cord in the way or anything. Let's hope the baby is like that at my next appointment and not just teasing me since it was too early to tell this time. I brought the pictures home for Rylee to see and she said, "Oh mommy, HE is so cute!" She also came upstairs yesterday morning and said "Mommy, I just had the best dream ever. I met the baby in your tummy and it is a boy for sure." She is sure determined to have a brother. I too hope she gets her heart's desire.

Christmas ornament FINALLY!!

Image
As a tradition, every Christmas my mom has given me my own ornament for the tree, so when I married Ryan and moved out, I had my own set of ornaments. So each ornament that is on my tree I can tell you who and where it came from. I passed this tradition on to my own girls. A couple years ago, I learned how to make clay ornaments out of Fimo clay and started making each child an ornament and also a family ornament for our tree for each year. I got discouraged with all that was happening around our house and bought my girls their ornaments this year. On Sunday, my sister in law convinced me that I should make at least one this year since I enjoy it so much. So here is my family ornament for 2008...I think it commemorates our Christmas quite well. What do you think??

Zoey

Image
Zoey got herself all dressed in her good (non-play) clothes and asked me to do her hair because she was going over to her Aunt Jennifer's house. I thought she looked cute so I snapped this picture.

Flooring and shelving

Image
Image
Image
Image
Ryan and his crew (Miles and Brant) have been working on the flooring and the workers have been completing the shelving. Things are really starting to take shape. The HUGE Home Depot order arrived yesterday with most of the finishing stuff. There is still a LONG list, but we are on the home stretch. We are wanting the addition done and then are going to work through the LONG winter to complete all the things that have to get done in the existing house. We should be done by summer just in time to paint the outside and fix the yard that is all torn up!

The Painting begins

After the long (not as long as Angeline's) and messy process of taping, mudding, and texturing, we were finally ready to tackle painting. It is pretty much done in the new addition. We do have a little touch ups here and there and some painting in the existing house, but we do have a huge chunk done.

Cute Stick People

I have always been a fan of the cute stick people families that people have on their cars. I finally got one!
Image
If you are wanting one, Peggy Millyard has a vinyl cutter and is starting a business. She can do just about anything that you want from the cute stick people to lettering for your home. You should give her a call!

Someday our Prince will come....

Image
or so we hope. Wanted to let you know that we are expecting baby number four and of course we are hoping for blue, but most of all just hoping he/she will be healthy. I do believe Rylee will be the most devastated if it is another girl. She REALLY wants a baby brother. I am due the end of June. We are excited for a summer baby.

I know some of you have asked me if I was pregnant and I have told you no. Please don't feel hurt or lied to. This is the first baby that Ryan and I have tried for. It was a spiritual and sacred experience and we wanted to keep it to ourselves until we were ready to share the news. I do hope you understand.

Happy Birthday Rylee!

Image
My little girl is 5...where does the time go?? We celebrated yesterday at Gramma's house with a combined party with her cousin, Izzy (whose birthday is the 10th) We ate pizza, cake, and ice cream. We also played pin the tail on the donkey and musical papers (chairs) Rylee had a great day!!!

Isn't the cake cute? I baked it and my sister in law offered to decorate it. She had kids home sick from church and said that she would do it to help me out. All I had to do was drive two of her kids to and from church. Great trade off...no frosting mess to clean up!

Image
She got lots of fun presents! She will be entertained well.

The sheetrock is done. The heat will be hooked up tomorrow, which means they will start to tape and texture on Thurs. I need to get on the ball and decide my paint colors and flooring because that comes next. IT'S EXCITING!!!

Making, Decorating,and Enjoying cookies

Image
After lots of asking from the girls, we finally made, decorated, and ate sugar cookies with frosting. We did it for family night and the girls had a lot of fun. Zoey and Avery recycled the same cookie and just kept licking the frosting off.

Stockings Avery's way

Avery thought the socks go on your feet not hang from the banister.

The ornaments were more fun to take off the tree than to put on.

Decorating the tree

The girls were begging to put up the tree so we gave in and did it as a family on Sunday. I do have to admit that I LOVE a room lit only by the light of the Christmas tree.
