Our adventures in Seattle included but are not limited to: The Science Center where we saw (Kevin’s favorite) the Harry Potter exhibit (they wouldn’t let us take photos inside). We got to see costumes, wands, Hagrid’s hut complete with hatching dragon, a dementor, a hippogriff and thestral…we even got to pull up baby mandrakes and throw quaffles into scoring hoops. Then we went to the Butterfly house (my favorite). Sarai loved it there. She chased and tried to touch all the butterflies until one landed on her, then she ran everytime one got really close. We also played at the REI downtown for a while. Sarai found an inflatable playpen filled with stuffed bears and she didn’t want to get out. That was fine with Daddy, he wandered around the store while Mommy and Sarai played withthe bears and curious onlookers. I think we even convinced a few customers to buy the playpen.
We spent Christmas with Grandpa Brown and the Booth family. On Christmas Eve we all dressed up and acted out the parts of the Nativity while Grandpa told the story. Christmas day we went to the Booths for dinner and games. Lots of fun! And I guess we don’t have pictures of this so if anyone wants to share..send them on over.
What a beautiful place. These pictures are on the way from Mt. Ranier National Forest (the cabin) back to Seattle and some cityscape pictures.
I should have written this earlier because now I can’t remember names…. We decided to go to the Columbia tower instead of the Space Needle, basically because it is 3x’s higher. That was an easy decision for me. We went up to the observation deck and started to talk with the guard there. It turns out it was someone from Kevin’s church ward where he grew up–it was fun to catch up, and it turns out that he can let family and friends in for free, SCORE one for team Brown!
I didn’t really know what to expect the cabin to be like, but I must admit, what I pictured from Kevin’s description and what actually was were a bit different. But don’t worry, I wasn’t at all disappointed. We all had a blast! It was so wonderful to be with all of the family again.
We ended up having three Christmases in 2010. We didn’t want to pack all of the stuff we got for each other and the stuff other people gave us to Utah and back so we started the Christmas gift giving a little early.
I haven’t figured out videos yet…but it is next on my list. Here are some pics from Sarai’s birthday: 14 Dec 2010
Then off to Washington for more fun and adventures. Sarai did amazing on the plane. No fussing at all…that definately made it easier for her motion sick mom. Seattle amazed me from the beginning. Even the art in the airport, beautiful!
Here are our family pictures from Christmas. It was definately an adventure for Sarai. She just wanted to play with all the toys we were using to try and get her to smile. Then I just stared at the camera … Continue reading
