IMMEDIATELY check the settings after installing because Google drive will try to siphon as much data as it possibly can off your computer. This makes accessing files on Google drive more convenient, but, of course, the default settings are such that it siphons off as much data as it possibly can off your computer for Google to analyze and sell. If Google Drive's web GUI were not so abysmal, I would do without this.

After updating to Mac Ventura 13.1 my Google drive disappeared out of Locations. I had to do some funky stuff to get it to appear again, but to get to the files online I have to go into .My Drive. Any folders under .My Drive I can access and actually move to Favorites so I got it working sorta. It would be nice if things wouldn't just stop working over a minor upgrade.

This stopped working for me more than a year ago. The installer always fails but leaves a Google Drive app on my Mac. I open that app and it always fails to recognize my files or to sync. Left much feedback, but have given up on this one. Mac OS version 10.14.6
