Frozen Fog

Winter is probably (ok, definitely) my least favorite season.  I don't like being cold and I don't like worrying about everyone driving on the crazy roads.  The one thing that makes it bearable is that it's pretty.  Fresh snow is pretty but frozen fog is so, so beautiful.  I could just stare at it for hours, preferably when I'm not driving!  Unfortunately, when I see it I'm usually the one driving so I don't get to take many pictures of it.  Rexburg winters are way to long but every once in a while I wake up to a truly magnificent winter wonderland!

Sledding!

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day the kids didn't have school.  So, we went sledding instead!  We went out to a hill in Sugar City and we had it all to ourselves.  It was so much fun watching the kids gleefully giggle and scream down the hill and then march right back up it again. My fingers were frozen by the end but it was so worth seeing my family have such a great time together!

Happy 35th Birthday to Me!

Today I got to turn 35!!  Yikes!  I thought it would be a hard one but it was one of my best birthdays as an adult.  My family spoiled me and the day was just really, really nice.  Par-tay!

Eliza gave me this headband ear warmer.

My mom always gives fun things.  This year I got some Sudoku puzzles, a coloring design book, and a meat cooking tool (totally awesome, btw!).

Before my birthday I was telling the kids that all they are getting this year is new socks, and nothing else.  Of course they didn't believe me, but Joe thought it would be funny if he gave me socks because of it.

The kids all made me cards, that were very heartfelt and appreciated, and there was money in each one.  Wowsers!

Joe made my favorite, angel food cake, and it was divine!!  But first we had to almost burn down the house with all those candles!

Daddy spoiled Simon with the whipped topping, no complaints from him!

At the end of the day, my favorite presents are all my kids and my husband.  I couldn't ask for a better family!  Here's to 35!!
