| The Weekly — Week 386: Going Nowhere Fast |
|---|
![]()
Unfortunately, it looks like Halo Fanon collectively took a bit of a hiatus from managing the Weekly, feedback delivery in particular. As the newest person caught holding the hot potato, I will try and pick it back up and throw it at someone else. We'll call this a 'wake up call', all puns intended. Prompt this week will be from Sunday, write a short story or scene involving a character waking up or a morning-not/routine. This can be a violent or sudden awakening, a slow and strained wake. That is all up to you. Maybe its a Spartan 2-hour cat nap, or an entire Yanme'e hive waking from a longer hibernation. Let's wake-wake up! Word count target is around 1000 to 1500 words, 1500 word limit. Now get-let's get up. WAKE UP! WAKE UP! HAVE THE HOT POTATO! |

| Random Good Article: Interstellar Nuclear Kill Vehicle |
|---|
![]() The Interstellar Nuclear Kill Vehicle, or simply referred to as the INKV, is a multi-stage rocket equipped with a Nova-class Nuclear Device built as a last resort, doomsday weapon as part of a serious of ultimatum-type projects in the event that a total defeat of the United Nations Space Command in the Human-Covenant War became a highly-likely inevitability. The weapon was never deployed, though began development as far back as the 2530s when the conflict was still raging and the chances of the Covenant discovering Earth were slim. Interstellar Nuclear Kill Vehicles are not typically carried on warships or deployed in any preemptive manner. They are strictly considered a last-resort weapon and deployed on a case-by-case scenario. Similar to nuclear policies in the twenty-first and twenty-second centuries among the few nuclear states of the world, the UNSC treats nuclear weapons including the INKV as weapons of mass destruction. However, due to their extreme lethality, INKVs are treated in a class of their own, similar to the Halo installations or the Composer employed by the Forerunner Ecumene. |

| Fanon of the Month — June 2026: Seeker's Trusting Heart |
|---|
![]() The Seeker's Trusting Heart is an experimentally modified Ester-pattern armoured frigate constructed for the Covenant navy, and currently in the service of the Swords of Sanghelios. Created in 2528 as an unconventional solution to the resistance offered by Humanity against the Covenant's holy crusade, the Heart is mostly similar to its pattern-sisters in terms of shape and size, but vastly different in armament. Known to the UNSC as CAR-U815, the frigate's unexpected array of high-grade plasma torpedoes made it notorious during the later years of the Human-Covenant War. "The 815", as UNSC servicemen called it, was a ship that could punch far above its weight, and racked up a higher kill count than was expected for a warship of its tonnage, especially during the Fall of Reach. |

| Mythic Article of the Year: Halo: Silent Shadow by UnggoyZealot |
|---|
Halo: Silent Shadow is a First-Person Shooter spinoff of the Halo franchise developed by 343 Industries, with consultation from id Software. Taking place concurrently with the events of Halo 2, Silent Shadow follows a Silent Shadow lance known as the Cleansing Paladins. Over the course of the campaign, the player's character, the Invincible Paladin, participates on several warfronts against various factions, including the UNSC, Heretics, Sentinels, Covenant loyalists, and eventually the Flood. While initially staunch followers of the Covenant, the plot covers the Cleansing Paladins' collective response to the Great Schism and the resulting fallout. The title released on Xbox Series X/S, Windows 11, and Steam on October 15, 2022 with crossplay support for the Incursion multiplayer mode. Read more»

| Writer of the Year 2025: KingOfYou115 |
|---|
Winner of the 2025 Best Spartan award(s). In the purely hypothetical circumstance that I needed to introduce and describe myself at gunpoint, I'd probably let you know I'm KingOfYou115, typically just King or KOY (although that last one I've never really liked). I've been a Halo enthusiast since first being introduced to the franchise in 2007, playing Halo 3 with my cousin and owning the Gearbox CE port at home. With my first Xbox in 2009, I furthered my collection with a simultaneous birthday gift of Halo 3 and Halo Wars. In the years since, I've been a massive fan of the expanded universe of books, visual media, and blog posts, and I joined the community of machinima creators in the early 2010s. Through that community, I wrote a canon-compliant-ish series that never saw production, but was my first introduction to writing fanon—even though I didn't know the word for it at the time. In 2016, I brought my first fanon to the site in the form of a sniper rifle design, closely followed by its Spartan-III user. While neither article has survived my multiple resets, the lessons learned from making them have been used to write new material including the award winning Erin-G174. |
