Today was one of the days where I was busy from the moment I woke up. Well, I woke up at 6 am, contemplated going to the gym long enough to fall back asleep until 9 am. Then I wrote in my journal, always therapeutic, and got up in time to hop in the shower before I went visiting teaching. While I got ready, Megan fixed us all French toast. I came down just after Junior had gotten on her for making a mess. I looked at the plate waiting for me, and it was full of semi-soggy egg bread. The middles were cooked, but nothing else. I was about to grab something else, but I knew Megan could not take another assault to her efforts. So I figured the blessings would cover any lingering salmonella, and took a plateful.
I am lucky to have forgiving, wonderful friends to visit teach, so they overlooked the fact that I came at the very end end end of the month. After a relaxing visit, I was off to the store for shopping. I got home and took a nap--it had been such an exhausting day, after all--then woke up in time to finish my shopping and get to the church to help with the dinner activity Junior planned for mutual. We all got home after nine o'clock...and I booted up the computer. For the first time today.
That's when I know it's been a busy day.
But you know, I don't mind being disconnected from the world for a little while. It's nice not having to hear about Kate Gosselin's latest plastic surgery disaster or see more oil-covered animals on the front page of MSNBC. It means I have quite a few blogs to catch up on, which makes for a relaxing evening at home. And maybe even time to write on my blog. :)
I haven't opened the news webpages yet, and I don't think I will tonight. I'll stay disconnected a little bit longer. Anyway, it is more tempting to curl up with a good book like Megan is right now.
Life is good.
