I am totally floored by how your adaptation of the pattern. It is amazing and beautiful. I’ve done some adapting of patterns, but nothing to the extent of your piece. Thank you so much for your kind, encouraging words, Emily. My main inspiration for the piece lied on my love for nature and Japanese mesmerizing stitchery…bringing it to life thus the birth of the floating leaves. It was a satisfying journey, indeed.
Would you be willing to share the pattern? If you’re willing, I would be happy to pay you for it. I know there is a ton of work in typing up a pattern so that other people can understand it.
I am flattered by your request, Emily. I honestly wish I could. To a knitter that loves numbers and geometric shapes, it really isn’t as difficult as it looks. Putting together a pattern isn’t a challenge. However, as stated in my project notes, this one was created as limited edition/one-of-a-kind for a fundraiser I contributed. So, it will not be re-created. However, I am working on some other design projects that may be enticing to you and others. Stay tune…

Thank goodness I’ve found someone else with a John Westlake Spinning Wheel. I’m not sure how to attach a photo to your website, but if you let me know, I will send you a picture. I am wondering if you have any idea where I might find accessories for the wheel. I understand that John Westlake passed away in about 2002 and it is a challenge to find anyone who knows much about his wheels. Thanks for any info you might have.
