A little bit of this and, a little bit of that, makes a little bit of me.

The Person

a wife, a mom, a wannabe crafter lives to honor the little things in life. Ā  How I have stitched together my very own life, by hand. Ā Ā A simple, special, extraordinary moment. Ā A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. I write to keep the crazy at bay. Sometimes it even works.

Hi again Sarah. I just read your comment on my blog (Yarnings) and wow, you mention you grew up in SanFrancisco and came to Napa . What a wee small world. I’m so glad we met , and now that I figured out all the identities across Ravelry bridged to our blogs, I hope to cross paths on our blogs lots !

Hello, I came across your Tree of Life, Owlies, & More project on Ravelry.com, because I was working a project using the “Nature in Natural Afghan” pattern by Lion Brand Yarn. I am totally floored by how your adaptation of the pattern. It is amazing and beautiful. I’ve done some adapting of patterns, but nothing to the extent of your piece. I just wanted to offer you my complements, and ask about your inspiration for it. Happy Stitching šŸ™‚

Thank you so much for your kind, encouraging words, Emily. My main inspiration for the piece lied on my love for nature and Japanese mesmerizing stitchery…bringing it to life thus the birth of the floating leaves. It was a satisfying journey, indeed.

Would you be willing to share the pattern? If you’re willing, I would be happy to pay you for it. I know there is a ton of work in typing up a pattern so that other people can understand it.

I am flattered by your request, Emily. I honestly wish I could. To a knitter that loves numbers and geometric shapes, it really isn’t as difficult as it looks. Putting together a pattern isn’t a challenge. However, as stated in my project notes, this one was created as limited edition/one-of-a-kind for a fundraiser I contributed. So, it will not be re-created. However, I am working on some other design projects that may be enticing to you and others. Stay tune…

Thank you, Laura, for such an honor! Sorry for the belated thank-you as I have been visiting the in-laws over the four-day extended weekend and just got home last night. Now, I am all bundled up to nurse myself back to health from being down with a flu. I’ll share this wonderful award with others as soon as I am caught up šŸ˜€ Again, you are very sweet and i’m so glad to have found your beautiful blog and being inspired by your wonders.

    Hi Sarah,
Thank goodness I’ve found someone else with a John Westlake Spinning Wheel. I’m not sure how to attach a photo to your website, but if you let me know, I will send you a picture. I am wondering if you have any idea where I might find accessories for the wheel. I understand that John Westlake passed away in about 2002 and it is a challenge to find anyone who knows much about his wheels. Thanks for any info you might have.

    Hello Sarah,

I’m compiling a free e-book about the Greatest Articles and I’m featuring excellent comments. Your thoughts in ā€œFuture of Money: Papers and Coins will be Missedā€ is a standout! I’m asking permission if I could include your words in the book?

    You surely will be attributed.

    All the best,
    Justin G. Bautista
