Cory and I made it to Washington, D.C.Thank you Fluke for having to send Cory to Washington on business....and thanks to my friend next door who found a ticket cheap enough for me to go with Cory!!!
It was so last minute that we weren't sure who could babysit but my wonderful father in law came to the rescue and watched the kids while we were gone. (Thank You Dennis) So we headed off to D.C. and had a great time. Our highlights included walking, driving around looking for somewhere to park, the Air and Space Museum, The Museum of Natural History, State Capital Building, the White House, eating a Georgetown cupcake and oh, did I mention driving around looking for somewhere to park? It's crazy trying to find a parking spot and by the way 25 cents in the parking meter gets you 3 minutes!!! Since I put in all the change I had...which was a whopping 42 cents, and got a total off 15 minutes of parking time...we decided to just drive away because there is now way one can eat lunch in 15 minutes. Oh, I almost forgot. I violated the law and stepped on a closed down street. Not a good thing to do in Washington. A police on a bicycle came out of nowhere and yelled at me to get off the road. Wow, Cory was so embarrassed. Minutes later some government dignitaries drove by in their black SUV's. Oopps! My bad. All in all, it was so much fun to get away and enjoy the nations Capital and all it has to offer.
