wintery fun...

We stayed the weekend at East Canyon Resort last month, so fun and relaxing!, and had an adventure on the frozen reservoir. It was high noon (difficult photography lighting) so I almost didn't take my camera! I'm so glad I did because I am in love with these images of my family. Just thought I'd post them before Spring is officially here!

a little family update...

Image
During all of the Fall madness with photography, I try to sneak in a photoshoot with my own kiddos, and though Brooks groans when I declare it's time and we have a few tears and lots of bribes, I am so glad to have these pictures. Take a guess at our location, do you know where we are?? I love being a mother and I love my kids, I think they are the coolest people ever. Read on for a little 2012 update on our family...

We are doing great and all is well. Eli and Zoe are 7 1/2 and in 2nd grade, loving school. Eli is still as sweet as can be with his sensitive, loving nature, he is quick to give me a hug and a kiss. He loves people and is always making his rounds in the neighborhood looking for a friend to play with. He likes soccer, running, racketball, playing chase - and I think he would be a lot better and faster if he could stop giggling the whole time, but I love that huge smile on his face! Zoe is bright and active, never stops talking or moving, she likes to have a plan and be on the go! I love her energy (I just wish I could always keep up with her)! She is a wonderful big sister to Sam and is very helpful to me. She loves to run fast and declare races, but only if she can win, she really has that competitive streak going. Eli and Zoe both have so much fun jumping off the high dive and doing flips into the pool, I just have to close my eyes. Jonah is a delight, I love to have him home with me in the mornings before he goes to kindergarten. He just turned 6 and thinks he is so big and mature. I am continually amazed at his creative mind. He plays all morning, creating everything from traps and race courses to amazing art and projects. Give that kid some paper, a pencil and the recycling bin of stuff and he is busy for hours. Sam is a joy to the whole family. I can't imagine our lives without this little person in our family. Every day I feel the miracle of him coming to us and my gratitude swells for the happiness he has brought to us all. He is 9 months old, sweet and mellow, but goofy and funny, plus busy as can be. He crawls so fast, especially when he knows he has only a few moments to eat the plant dirt, or the dog food, or dump out the dog water. He has a cheering audience for everything he does! Not to leave out Brooks and myself, we are great. Brooks is happy at his job 1 mile away, and also loves his involvement in The People's Health Clinic, an organization he is passionate about. Brooks is a kind, loving, patient husband and father and I feel lucky to be on this Road of Life, with all its ups and downs, together. I am great, so busy with all the things I need to do, want to do, and don't have time to do, so thankful for so many blessings in my life, especially my family and our health, the beautiful place we live, to have a warm house with peace and safety surrounding us, for the gospel of Jesus Christ which gives me purpose, peace and understanding. We are so fortunate and my heart goes out to so many who struggle with the trials and difficulties of life. May you be blessed in this coming year and know of our love and friendship for those of you in our lives, thank you for all you do and the good influence you have on us and our children.

we like red rock...

We spent Fall break at Arches. We love camping, we love Southern Utah, and Arches has to be one of the most amazing places on Earth. It was a perfect trip. The kids were "one" with the red rock and are teaching Sam early! I wanted to hike to Delicate Arch for sunset so bad, but we couldn't make the 4 mile hike in time, so we ran as fast as we could up a shorter trail to a lookout so I could get some pics of my kiddos in front of this amazing landmark arch.

yoga baby...

I always tell people to have their baby's portrait session done when they are 6 months old, "it's the perfect time!" I say. Couldn't wait to take my own baby's 6 month pics. But all my baby wanted to do was his little yoga move, the baby downward dog. When he was this age he wanted to crawl so bad but couldn't figure it out, so he spent most of his days in this position. Good blood flow to his developing brain...??

still here...

To the few of you who still trust that I am going to post something and actually check my blog...I am still alive, all is fine and well in my little family. I have just been busy posting here on my photography site. I counted up and actually have posted 27 times there during the dry spell 0 times on my personal blog. It was a very busy Fall for photography -  it's a bit of a blur, but during one of my busiest weeks I had a 10 day stretch with 10 photo shoots and 2 twelve hour nursing shifts, not to exclude my darling little/big family and young baby! It was a whirlwind. A little stress, yes, but also enjoyable as I really love photography and feel that passion running through my veins when I am involved in it. So humor me please, and look at my site, leave feedback if you'd like, and most of all, keep coming back to visit my blog because I am still here...

loved...

Sam has his own private fan club and it consists of 5 members. he is so adorable and we are having so much fun having a baby in our family. he just turned 5 months and within days he went from just rolling over to rolling and scooting around the whole house, bonking his little head into things cause he's too young for scooting. he got his first tooth and started saying "ma ma" every time he sees me.
can I please just push pause?!
