Hey Everyone!
So this week was pretty good!! Definitly coulda been better
but its all good!! We had a ton of people from the ward sign up for lessons and
they all cancelled so it was pretty slow!
We did have some good things happen tho! We got a couple
refferals! One from the YSA Elders and another from Sister Oswald's grandma
haha!! My companions went to the YSA refferal and had no luck! But I went with
a member and we hit up the other refferal and she was thee sweetest old lady
ever!! After G-ma of course!! But we went to her house and knocked on the door
and there was like 8 grandmas gathered together playing bingo!! They were
pretty happy!! Then two young good looking men walk in and they just get even
happier!! haha jk but we were able to show her the 'He is the Gift" video
and she just loved it!!! She's super Catholic but loves the Mormon church and
thought they did a very good job on the video!! She also noticed my Book of
Mormon chillin on the table and she asked what that was so we gave it to her
and taught her about the Book of Mormon!! I was able to bear my testimony it
was really cool!
As for Lazarre our French African investigator who was
supposed to get baptised this week... he has been flaking on us the past couple weeks
and we cannot get a hold of him ever so that's frustrating but it's all good! We're gonna get him weather he likes it or not!! haha
Other then that my week was good! We had our mission
christmas party that was good!
Hope ya'll have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Scripture
LUKE 2 1-11
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Love,
Elder Hess
