March 2010

March went by fast than I expected! You know what they say, busy people, stay busy!

Blog Name: "Hey Bonnell"
First, I want to share with you why we named our blog address heybonnell.blogspot.com. It's a really funny story actually. I can't recall how old our niece Ansley was (I'm guessing about 5), she was trying to get her Grandpa Bonnell's attention to tell him something. Since she doesn't get to see him often, she forgot how to address him. So she said, "Hey Bonnell!"
Ha ha ha. It's been a great joke between Jeremy and I...especially since he has a brother-in-law with the same name. Gotta love Ansley, she cracks me up!

Debbie's Wedding

I've known Debbie for about 13 years now! She was one of my bridesmaids, so to no surprise, I was one of hers. She got married on March 18th. Her and her husband Kris got married at Aspen Landing Reception Center. I was able to snap some pics here and there, she looked amazing.

I have to admit that I'm very proud of the bridesmaid's rose bouquets that I made. I'm not sure why it decided that bouquets were not made for the bridesmaids. It didn't seem to stand out to me until we did the rehearsal. I just couldn't shake the awkwardness of not having anything in my hands as we had to walk down the isle by ourselves (no groomsmen). You know me, I decided to try it out. They turned out better than I expected. Debbie is now a happy wife and is looking forward to her future. Congrats you two!

Mary Kay Career Conference 2010
Everyone who really knows me, knows how much I love being a Mary Kay consultant. I wish I could apologize for me gushing about this amazing company, but I can't. It means that much to me. This year was no exception to me being "wowed" by what this company does for others, especially our sales force. This year, our unit got to walk across the stage as a "Cadillac Driving Unit"!!! Yes, my director will be getting brand spankin' new pink Cadillac in a couple of months! I can't wait to see it, we all worked so hard. My director, Shari Kendall, is absolutely amazing and is a wonderful example to all of our consultants.

Even Yvette Franco, U.S. Vice President of Marketing came to SLC!! I was able to earn a special reception to go to for being a star consultant. She was so great about sharing facts about our company and about the products. The main thing that I loved about her, was that she was genuine. I'm sure as one of the VP of Mary Kay, she could totally be a snob...but not w/a company like MK. I'm honestly proud that our company is lead by amazing people and also the fact that they give back most of their profits back to the sales force, research for our products and to charity!

My dreams of becoming a free car driver was awakened in me! Why can't I drive free?! It's up to me. I love that we wouldn't have to pay for another vehicle since payments are the pits. I had a wonderful time and I can't wait for seminar in Dallas, TX in July!

February!

February came and went! Jeremy is still crazy busy with all of his classes and working. We're looking forward to May...summer break for him!

Valentine's Day

As you know, I'm a 3rd grade teacher. It's funny that all the things that I loved when I was a young girl in school happens to be a teacher's hurdle. Yes, I am referring to the Valentine's Day party. Don't you remember putting all the names on the Valentine's and passing them out? The kids absolutely love it. They were super excited to show off all of their Valentine's containers that they had made. I am always amazed with what the kids walk in with!! My favorite was the Nintendo DSI, so creative! Once the day is over and the kids have had so much fun, you can breath a sigh of relief...I made it! LOL. It really makes you wish you that you could go back and have careless days of being a kid again.

Richard Marx

The other fun thing that we got to do this month was go see Richard Marx in concert on Feb. 12th! His songs were a big hit in our household while we were growing up, especially because of my sister Linda.

So Tom, Loraine, Linda and I hopped onto the Fun Bus to Wendover (barely made it on the bus...phew!). We pigged out on king crab legs and went to see him perform. Boy, I have to admit, he is ABSOLUTELY hilarious! His personality was very charming and he rocked it out during a kick @$$ concert!

Here are some of the photos that I was able to snap and 1 video. I couldn't do video very long, I was afraid of getting caught (since we were so close).

Here's the video of him about to start singing: "Right Here Waiting"...but then he starts to sing Bryan Adam's song, "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You". I told you that he was funny!

Melissa's "Mad Hat Party"

My friend Melissa Chipman is the absolute best! She is full of life and has the best sense of humor. I honestly can say that she is a girl that I would love to be more like. For her 30th birthday party, her friends threw her a "Mad Hat Party". Loraine and I went and we had so much fun!! Loraine provided me with a blond wig and then we bought a leprechaun hat at Dollar Tree. Boy, was it fun being a blond!! Ha ha! They say blond's do have more fun ;)

There's a snippet of February!!! Until next time....xoxoxoxo!

Ch. 1: Welcome Baby Abby & Ch. 2: The Scribble Monster

Hi everyone! I'm still learning all these things about blogging, but so far it's been so fun to read everyone else's pages! January has absolutely flown by and there has been so many things that have happened.

Abby Girl!!!!

ImageImageI would first like to share of picture of our new niece Abigail Grace Bonnell. Randy is Jeremy's brother. If you can't see the resemblance in the picture, you might need to get your eyes checked ;) Randy and Kim's cute baby was born January 16th. We can't wait to meet her! They live in Sacramento, CA, so we'll have to make a trip out there sometime :)

The Scribble Monster!

Well, here's a long story made short. I love the Fablehaven series written by Brandon Mull, a wonderful local UT author. He visited our school and I was able to get my book autographed!! Well, I happened to leave my book over at my parents house one night....huge mistake! My parents watch my nephew Carter during the while my sister and brother-in-law work. I wasn't able to make it to my parents house for a couple of days and just figured I would pick up my book later.

"In your face Aunt Michelle!" Those words could almost be seen in the scribbling of an "innocent 2 year old" by the name of Carter Chan Newberg. I do have to admit that I let out a few unfavorable words when I saw it, but the whole time I had a smile on my face!! I love that kid to pieces and he definitely knows it. Carter just thought that the author's signature was a "scribble", so he decided to scribble too. Aren't kids so funny?

ImageHere is the evidence of purple crayon on the autographed page...I guess it could've been worse...click on the pic if you can't quite make it out. It's really there!

The most funny part of this story was when I asked him about it. I'll let the evidence of the video speak for itself!!! It was SO funny! Gotta love kids right, they wear their emotions on their sleeves!

It wasn't me!!!!! (Carter played the blame game and denied it all!!) Carter even said, "It was Ian Chan Newberg!!!" You can hear Ian defending himself, "I wasn't even there", lol.

P.S. I had to change my background to attempt to not drown out the "purple crayon", but I kind of like the red. Maybe I'll switch back and forth ;)

First Blog

Image
Hi everyone! Each year, I make a resolution in which I know that I can maintain and won't "break". This year, my resolution was to Blog at least once a month so that I can help document what goes on in our crazy lives.

So far 2010 has been absolutely speeding by us! We've had some great times already. We have spent time our nephews and also have welcomed a a new niece, Abigail Grace Bonnell. We can't wait to meet her, although she lives in Sacramento w/Jeremy's brother and wife (Randy and Kim). Good thing for modern technology, we can Skype w/one another!

I hope that by keeping this Blog, this will also help me keep in touch with other family that is not on Facebook. As all of you know I love FB...but I'm don't have the application to post on my phone, so when I'm off, I'm off :D Spoken from a true FB addict!! I can't wait to keep up with this new year resolution!
