Land Acknowledgement
High River is situated on land which, until recently, was stewarded by the Niitsitapi (Neet-si-tapi). The High River Library Board commits to acknowledging the relationships to the land, beings, and teachings of the Siksika (Six-ih-gah), Pikuni (Pe-guh-nee) and Kanai (Gai-nah), the Tsuut'ina (Sue-tin-ah), the (Îyârhe) Nakoda (Ee-iith-kah) (Nah-koh-dah) First Nations and the Métis Nation of Alberta within Battle River Territory.
We honour and thank the Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for generations and continue to do so.
