Earthquake

We were awaken yesterday morning at 5:30am to the house shaking like crazy. We immediately jumped out of bed and ran to get Ashlin who was half awake wondering what was going on. I ran to the living room because all i heard was glass clinking. We have a glass cabinet full of glasses and they were swaying. Nothing broken thank goodness. The earthquake lasted about a minute but it felt like 10. We really didn't know what to do. I have never had to prepare for anything like that. We know what to do during hurricanes, tornado's and now typhoons but earthquakes are new for us. They reported it being a 7.3 earthquake. Thank goodness there was no damage anywhere.
Also yesterday there was a planned power outage for our buildings from 8-3. So we were preparing for a day with no electricity trying to find something to do with the kids (Ashlin and her friend gabriel). We couldn't take them to the beach because of the tsunami warnings in effect, the playgrounds were muddy from the rain we got the night before. So we decided to go were we know there is going to be power the shopping center. It ended up being a beauitful day after all the excitement of the morning. It go up to 77 degrees and felt so good out.
Now today there is a tsunami warning out for all of the pacific ocean until 3 pm. All kinds of excitement here on okinawa.

Fashion Show

We decided that we were going to do a fashion show for Daddy with all of Ashlin's dress up cloths. This girl is all about dressing up and showing off. Daddy is such a great sport he sat through every one of the performances that she did. There was some singing, twirling, dancing and flipping.

Valentine's Day

We went to brunch at the Butler O'club. I am going to tell ya. It was a delicious all you can eat buffet. My husband was in hog heaven. They had everything you would want for breakfast and lunch. You name it and they had it. We will definitely be going back there.

Ice Cream

We watched Gabriel sat.night while his parents could go out to dinner and see a movie. So we took the kids to American Village and enjoyed some good ole Soba, we walked around a bit and then went to get some ice cream!! They so enjoyed it. This picture was at the begining of the ice cream. You should have seen them both at the end. Ice cream all over there faces. Finally had to get cups to put the ice cream in so that they could eat the cone. Ashlin's favorite part!!!

Beach Day

Ashlin and I went to Araha Beach today to enjoy this beautiful weather we are having. It was 77 degrees out. I mean prefect weather to be outside playing around on the beach. Ashlin got to play in the sand and make sand castles. I took a towel out and just sat on the beach enjoying watching her play around. We have to enjoy this while it last. Once the hot humidity comes we want be sitting around on the beach it will be more like swimming around in the water.

First Day of Preschool

Ashlin started preschool this week. She loves it. The teachers can't get over how well she talks. They have asked me everytime i've dropped her off or picked her up how old she is. I get that a lot she looks older than she is because of her height. But once everyone sees her daddy they totally understand where she gets it from.
I think the first day she was there she must have talked up a storm to all the teachers. She told them all her mommy's name is Heather and Daddy's name is Mr. Drew. (That's what Gabriel calls drew so ashlin thinks she's suppose to call him that too.)

Day 12

Today was our last day that Grandma and Poppy where going to be here. Despite the rain and cold we headed to the zoo. The rain held off for a while. We had a fun time looking at all the animals. Especially the Elephants that were playing around in the mud. After the zoo we headed to Coco's for lunch.
