Quick Catch-up

Image

I know, I havne't blogged in awhile. I rarely get the computer unless it's naptime and that's my only time to clean. Needless to say, I've let all housework go this week and I'm enjoying my naptime today. I've been doing visiting teaching stuff all week during naps (excpet on Tuesday when I went to Tucson to see my sister for her birthday). Anyway... here is a quick recap of what we have been up to.
MAY

Image
I learned fast how to juggle 2 kids that wanted (or needed) my attention. They hate sharing me though. I think they have gotten used to it.

Image
Tori discovered the bookshelf. She prefers to read her books on her own. I try to read to her but she won't let me, so I read by myself a lot.

Image
Ana was just cute all the time. Oh yeah, except when she didn't sleep, which was most of the time.

Image
We discovered coloring. Tori also made a new friend Perry the Platypus. She loves him, THANKS AUNT WENDI!

Image
Ana turned one month! She has my big eyes. She has my personality as well.

Image
Bath time became an adventure with 2.

Image
We drank a lot of smoothies.

Image
Took Tori to the splash pad by our house for the first time. She was scared, but it was so fun to watch her and Josh play together.
 JUNE

Image
Went camping for the first time. Tori didn't have much fun until she discovered mud (about an hour before we left).

Image
Ana was blessed at the beginning of June.

Image
Tori learned how to be a great big sister. (She is still learning.)

Image
Ana turned 2 months.
 JULY
we were really silly in July

Ana fell in love with Grandpa and shows it by spitting up on him. They are so cute together!

Image
Played at McDonalds

Image
Helped daddy work on a computer.

and we were silly some more
AUGUST
Image
played at the park

Image
and played

Image
and played, but only when it was kind of nice outside.

Image
played play-doh

Image
Ana started rolling

Image
and loves the bumbo because she can sit up.

Image
Ana turned 4 months

Image
took a walk when we went to Prescott for Josh's dad's wedding. (That may be its own post later.)

Image
Ana lost her feet in Prescott and was very concerned about them.

Image
Ana also started teaching Tori how to play the piano.
I'll try to do better at posting. I'll post a birth story later (hopefully) and well as other things, such as our trip to Prescott. For now, Ana is crying.

A Crazy Life

I will admit I never thought I'd be one of those people who just stops blogging, or does so for a long time. Yep, its been a long time. I know I need to catch up since February so my goal is to do so... by the end of the month. That's a lot of information.
We did have our sweet baby (or not so sweet) on April 15th. We had a girl and named her Analyse Pearl. She is perfect... except for the fact that she doesn't know how to sleep during the day and doesn't like to be put down. It's frustrating. I was excited to have her on April 15th, that's my dad's birthday! Anyway, here is a picture of Ana (that's what we call her). More information to come as I catch up.
Oh yeah, I don't think I'm going to do Tuesday Truths for awhile, I'm way too busy these days!

Tuesday Truths

1. The truth is... Josh and I went up to Prescott to see his dad last Saturday. I was really worried about going because I'm so close to my due date and Tori can be crazy. It wasn't as bad as I was thinking it would be in my head. Tori had a ton of fun playing with her grandpa and grandma.

2. The truth is... Jack Jack came to Prescott with us. He wanted to explore outside the whole time, it was kind of cute. Although, he's been attached to his bed ever since we got home.

3. The truth is... I'm hoping to clean my floors this weekend. It's been almost a month since I cleaned them and I prefer to have it done before baby arrives.

4. The truth is... I should be doing something right now, but I'm feeling pretty lazy. It's terrible, I know.

5. The truth is... I am so tired right now I may have to go take another nap. Yep, that sounds pretty good to me!

Tori's Health Problems

Most people by now know that Tori has had a lot of health problems within the first year of her life. It got worse after she turned one! It's crazy. Here's a quick rundown of what happened within the first year.
Birth- tongue tied, she had to get her tongue clipped when she was just a week and a half old, poor girl.
1 month- double ear infect and broncialitus
2 months- ear infection
3 months- breathing problems as well as another ear infection
5 1/2-6 months- constant ear infection
6 months- ear tubes
9 months- roseola
11 months- cold (which came with more breathing problems)
I think that's it for her first year. Keep in mind the first 3 months of her life she was pretty much congested the whole time! Once we switched her to SOY formula that went away (thank heaven). We started to give her real milk around the time she turned 11 months old (we worked it into her formula) to try and get her accustomed to real milk. We were also curious to see  if she was actually lactose intolerant (dad is just for milk). Nothing happened so we kept giving her real milk. Well, we think that was her problem the whole time. From the time she turned 1 to the end of February she was not doing well. The worst of it started about halfway thru January when she received another cold and her breathing got worse. The doctor we saw was concerned about the breathing issue because when she looked at her records, breathing was not good. She recommend that we go to a pulmonary specialist. UGH! Another specialist! We already had the ENT, now one for her breathing. It has been really hard to pay for all these doctors. My mom said that she really wanted me to take Tori so she would help in any way possible (but I wouldn't let her, unless it was come to the doctor with me). So, a few days later we had an appointment with the pulmonary specialist. We were actually really lucky to get in so fast. The pediatrician had Tori on oral steroids which was making her crazy! We found out why, she was overdosed! After cutting that down and giving her pulmacort on top of the albuterol we were set. She also wanted Tori to be allergy tested to see if that is what was causing the congestion/breathing problems. Two weeks later (once she was feeling a little better) Tori was allergy tested.
Can I just say, watching that was the hardest thing ever!?!?! Okay, it wasn't as bad as the tongue getting clipped, but it was not fun. I'm glad my mom came with me, it was nice to have her there for comfort. You probably guessed right, there were no allergy problems seen! Ugh! Now what to do. When we talked to the doctor she said that we have at least narrowed down one thing, there are two more solutions to the problem. THe doctor thought that she either had an immune defficiency or acid reflux. We got an order for bloodwork to be done and we got zantac for the acid reflux. When she mentioned acid refulx then it hit me like a train. Cow's milk. I mentioned the SOY versus regular formula issue we had when she was a baby and she said that could be the problem. However, we still needed to check. So, on February 15th, we did the unthinkable. Tori had her blood drawn. It was terrible. Josh was able to get some time off to be able to come and help me in this process. I'm glad he came because with my belly I wouldn't have been able to hold her down. Poor girl probably thinks we don't love her because we torture her so much and take her to the doctors all the time! Okay, so the blood being drawn was really hard to watch as well. The test results came back and there was no problem!!! That totally sucks!
We actually went back to the Pulmonary doctor last week. We had finally got her breathing under control, thanks to my sister lending me her warm-mist humidifier. The doctor was really impressed because we did that and took her off all of the albuterol and pumacort. She said that she can stay off that as long as she is doing well and not having any problems. We also don't have to go back for 3 months (unless there is a major problem). YEA!
We also went to the ENT a couple weeks ago and her right ear tube was blocked (again). We have been putting drops in her ears and we go back on Wednesday to see if they are unblocked or not. She's been pretty happy since we got over everything and the blocked ear tube isn't bothering her. She is becoming quite the independent little girl! Let's hope we have no major problems over the next few months!

January

To be perfectly honest, nothing big really happened in January for us. Other than having a lot of health issues (which required a lot of doctors visits) we did okay. It was a pretty mellow month for us. I just wish I got more done but I was spending most of my time doing breathing treatments with Tori. I guess that is a sacrifice you have to make. Here are some pictures that I took throughout January. Tori's health update will be my next post!

This was the view I had most of the time in January. Now I have to look around my belly when Tori does this.

Tori loves her blanket; it's crazy!

Image
Learning to read! She loves books, even if it is her just playing with them.
Image

Image
Watching TV with dad. I love how their faces have the same look!
Image
Playing with Jack Jack. I love leaving the two of them alone, although they can cause a lot of mischief together.

Discovering the cupboard in the kitchen with the food.

Playing cowboy with her pony. She actually prefers to just push the horse around.

Learning how to hold the bottle with just her mouth. She now does this with her sippy cup since she doesn't use bottles anymore.
