Created by Jeremy Brock and Paul Unwin, the medical drama Casualty has been airing on the BBC since September 1986. The series focuses on the daily trials and tribulations faced by the staff of Holby City Hospital's Emergency Department and the Holby Ambulance Service.
Teddy and the team rally to respond to what is assumed to be a gas explosion, while Matty risks his career to cover for Stevie, who is attempting to get by without medication. Cam is devastated when he loses a patient, Flynn is suspicious about a patient's injuries, and Siobhan encourages Jan to speak to the police about the call centre hold-up.
Rash is horrified when Sunny’s actions result in a brutal attack, Flynn offers to help an emotional Nicole, and Iain struggles to resolve his issues with Faith.
Jacob’s outraged by an injustice, while things come to a head for Dylan and Matty. Siobhan reaches her limit and it’s confession time for Iain.
Jodie's actions causes a disastrous ripple effect, after footage of her messing around while on duty ends up on social media. Dylan invites her to discuss her career over dinner, only for a car to crash through the restaurant window. He is reluctantly forced to enlist her help in saving the passengers, despite the fact that she has had a drink. Stevie notices bruises on Kim's hand, and a trainee paramedic gets off to a bad start with Jan.
Surgery brings fresh dangers for Rida, Indie takes risks, and Flynn endeavours to win over the team.
Dylan is discharged from mentoring Rash, and struggles to deal with the weight of his recent mistakes, while also finding it difficult to cope with taking oin a new student. At first he decides to let her take the lead, but this only leads to further frustration. Tariq and Rash come into conflict while treating a pregnant woman, and Nicole is forced to come clean about her secret.
Paul is horrified to discover Robyn collapsed and rushes her into the ED. Dylan's diagnosis, that Robyn is suffering a rare side effect associated with IVF, upsets Marty who feels awful that he and Adi might be partly responsible for Robyn's condition. Former anaesthetist Jonty Buchanan is now unemployed and estranged from his wife, and is horrified to be returned to his former workplace as a patient after he punches through a window.
Stevie suffers a crisis of confidence after losing two patients in a row early in a shift, and begins to fear that Marcus had been right to doubt her clinical skills. Gethin comes to the aid of a drowning boy, which forces him to make a confession about how he is coping with his diagnosis. Donna needs Dylan's advice, and a new paramedic makes amends for some poor decisions.
As Iain battles for his life, will Charlie recognise Laura in time?
Rash struggles to do the right thing for Paige, and Robyn steps up to help Marty and Adi with their surrogacy. Iain and Sah attend an environmentalist protest on a busy roundabout when a young activist named Suzy hits her head on the pavement. Rash treats Suzy, who tries to leave as soon as possible to return to the protest. Suzy's dad, Terry, arrives and chastises her for being so reckless.
Jacob wants more from Connie, but will she be able to make the time for their relationship with mounting pressures on the ED and an increasingly disillusioned Will.
Jade’s confidence is crushed when a night out turns to disaster, Fenisha discovers the painful truth about Ethan’s diagnosis, and Tina pushes her luck with Jacob.
It's an emotional rollercoaster of a day for Rash as events take their toll on staff and patients alike. Dylan struggles in his role as clinical lead, and Archie is desperate to impress Dylan but instead accepts friendship from Will.
David struggles to manage his bipolar symptoms as his past comes back to haunt him, and Dylan’s morals are pushed to their limit.
Connie manipulates and schemes to save herself, while new porter Rosa makes quite the first impression in the ED.

A spin-off of Casualty created by Tony McHale and Mal Young, Holby City ran for 23 years between 1999 and 2022. Set on the wards above Holby City ED, the series focused on the hospital's surgeons and ward nurses fighting to treat patients whilst dealing with the politics of health and their own often tumultuous personal lives.

Stephanine "Stevie" Nash is a consultant in emergency medicine who works in the Emergency Department of Holby City Hospital. She served as Acting Clinical Lead for a brief period in 2024. Raised in Northern Ireland during the Troubles with her younger sister Emma, Stevie witnessed and was victim to sectarian violence from a young age which would affect her deep into adulthood. In an attempt to escape her more popular sister's shadow, Stevie excelled academically and outperformed most of her peers.
