Family Photo Shoot
We got some quick shots of the family, with only one casualty...my skirt. Look closely at the last photograph. And doesn't Nate crack you up?
The Arboretum, yet again
The only place we ever go when company comes to town is the Arboretum. I LOVE it! Despite it being a bit muddy, only a few of our party took an unintentional slide, so we had a great time. Brenley (my good friend) and her kids joined us for the day.

The Myers come to town
My parents came to visit us last week and left today. We really enjoyed their visit and miss them already! They were such a great help with the kids - we would have been a stressed out household this past week without them around. Some highlights of their visit included going to the arboretum, walks to the park, lunch with Abby at school, reading to Abby's KG class, popping popcorn, watching movies, doing crafts, playing Barbies with grandma, playing Transformers with grandpa, reading books, riding scooters, going to the gymnasium, etc. Grandma also took Abby on a date to the roller skating rink, and Grandpa took Nate on a date to the pet store and then out to lunch at McDonald's. They also cleaned, cooked, and babysat the kids. What a treat!
Nate really loves Transformers and likes to watch the old 80's TV series which we rented on DVD. He also likes to play Transformers - making beeping noises and robotic movements until he "transforms" into a car on the ground. Matt is overjoyed that his son likes Transformers, since Matt lived for it as a kid.
Jake is hilarious. Much of what he says ends up with an "eyeball head" in the sentence. He loves to do things himself and help out with us when needed: "I do it! I get that!" He also loves his candy and cookies (he is definitely my child). When I catch him with a treat in his hand that he's not supposed to have, he tells me, "Not eat it. Look (at) it." Of course it ends up eaten, but I can't bear to take it away from him.
Brooke rolled over for the first time the other day! I didn't see it, but we saw the aftermath. She is a wiggly one and moves all over a blanket when she's laying down. She loves her oatmeal and continues to charm us with her cute, belly laughs.
We had our children's program today at church, which was a real treat. I love being with the kids in our Primary. Nate and Abby did great at delivering their lines in the practice yesterday. Today, however, Nate was feeling wronged before the program even started, so it took some major convincing to even get up on the stand. Once there, he shared my chair instead of taking his front row seat, he refused to give his line, and he sucked his thumb the whole time. :) The boy cracks me up. Abby sat in the front too, but gleefully participated. It was a great program. The music was beautiful and the children bore their sweet testimonies of gospel truths, which brought a wonderful spirit into the meeting.

The Angels - soccer!
Abby has loved soccer this season. Her favorite part about soccer is playing in the games. During the game, when she is on the sideline, Abby watches the game intently and cheers when her team does well and is disappointed when they lose the ball. Her long legs help her run super fast and she loves going after the ball. Her coaches are great at teaching the girls positions and skills. Abby has learned a lot!
Jake was puttiing on a show for us at the last game. He kept taking his shirt and shoes off, so he was walking around topless. Then he got sick of his pants as well and kept stripping down to his diaper. He also enjoyed throwing things onto the field and then running right into the middle of the game to retrieve them.

Halloween
Halloween was great! The kids went with the Star Wars theme (mostly because I thought Jake would be cute as a Yoda). On Halloween night, we had a trunk-or-treat party at our church and also a chili cook-out in our cul-de-sac with neighbors. Afterward, the kids went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. They got lots of candy and later enjoyed handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters who stopped by our house. Enjoy some pictures....
