July in Texas

For the Fourth of July we went to Lubbock, TX, home to Texas Tech AND my brother and his family. Brett, Jenn, and their kids moved there in June for Brett to teach at Texas Tech. We were excited to see them and visit their new house - especially because they have a pool. As luck would have it, a major storm hit us on our way and travelled with us to Lubbock. Right when we arrived, the power went out - just to make things more dramatic. It rained the whole time we were there, but that didn't stop the kids from swimming. My kids only lasted a few minutes, but Matt, Brett, and his sons Matt and Josh played for hours in the pool. We are so excited to have them living close (especially since Matt's sister Meghan just moved away from Dallas).

In July, we also celebrated Jake's birthday! He turned three years old and is so proud to be older! We had a birthday party in Lubbock with the cousins - including decorating cupcakes, an obstacle course, prizes, and opening presents. We also celebrated at home on the actual day with donut holes in the morning and more presents.

June in Texas

So it looks like we need to catch up on the summer! We spent the first half of our summer here at home. In June we had a visit from my mom and did the usual - park, swimming, treats, etc. She celebrated her birthday during the visit and we celebrated with lunch at Rainforest Cafe and cupcakes at home. It was super fun but the visit wasn't long enough!Image Image

I made rolls.....

Abby and Nate had a Primary activity at the Dallas LDS Temple. They sang songs with the other kids in Primary, took a tour of the grounds, and got to take home a picture of the temple.

More to come for the rest of our summer!
