Top Reasons My Hun is Amazing

Image
One thing I've always hated about myself is that I'm a really poor writer. Like, I always want to send someone a note telling them how much they mean to me, how much I love them and how truly grateful to God I am for their friendship and love. So I sit down to do it and all the standard cliches come rolling out. Heartfelt it always is, but a good way for me to communicate it is not. So here I am, left with a heart full of thanks and gratitude and no way to get it out. Fortunately though, I am good at making lists! Lists make me (like a lot of you) supremely happy. On the "name one thing that always makes you happy" question, "lists" would undoubtedly be at the top of the um...well, list. Recently, I've been thinking a lot about how much I love my Hun so I thought I'd make use of my skills and give you the top 30 (at least the ones I can think of right now).

1. He's SUPER handsome

2. He gets up every morning with the kids and gets them breakfast so that I can sleep in a bit

3. He changes yucky diapers & wipes yucky bottoms

4. He goes grocery shopping more than I do

5. He encourages me in the fun things I love to do (photography, crafts, sewing etc)

6. He does the dishes

7. He's working his tail off trying to find a job

8. He listens to me talk about how I want to decorate our house, over and over and over

9. He's crazy funny and makes me laugh harder than anyone I know

10. He remembers details and doesn't mind telling me about them

11. He helps me pick up after the kids (though some, I'm sure, would be surprised to find out that either one of us actually do this :-) )

12. He loves me for who I am and what I look like, no complaints...well, none that he mentions anyway

13. He helps accomplish MY projects

14. He is super diligent in spending time with the Lord

15. He is really smart

16. He's really hot

17. He lets me go out and stays home to take care of the kids

18. He eats all of the "let's try something new!" dinners I put on the table and only occasionally supplements them with cereal

19. He never complains

20. He is trusting the Lord with our future

21. He is generous

22. He loves our kids

23. He plays endless pretend games of Wii (we don't have one) and Sportscenter with our kids

24. He loves my family

25. He loves His family

26. He is cautious with our money and doesn't get angry (well, not usually) when I get angry at him for NOT spending it

27. He lets me panic and doesn't treat me like an idiot for doing it

28. He preaches the gospel to our children

29. He decided to spend the rest of his life with me

30. He looks super sexy in his suit

You are the best Babe! I love you Hun!

Thoughts on Marriage

ImageGwyneth and Austie were talking with me about getting married recently (married to each other, of course) and Gwee said, "and when we get married we can wear a pretty dress and brush our hair and have sparkley teeth and all that stuff." Yup!

BTW, this picture is classic Gweezle face. You can just see the stinker in her eyes :-) I love you sweet girl!!

Updates

So it's been a little while since I've updated this :-) Been trying to be faithful to work around my house and spend time with my kids instead of playing on the computer unless it is work related ('cause dang, there are so many fun things to do and people to catch up with!). Here is a small snippet into what we've been up to-

Shot a couple of weddings with Melanie. My favorite shot (of mine) from 2 of them

Brian & Jessica

Thanksgiving 2008

Image

I neglected to make or send out Christmas cards this year. So, I thought I'd post our family photo (that Melanie took) here. Hope you all had a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Image

Last, but not least, Brian got laid off. No pictures for that :-) (but boy, doesn't Hun look hot in that last shot?). Please forgive all the phone calls that you didn't receive (to let you know)...we're still a bit shell-shocked. It was a business decision that had to be made (and we totally understand), just stinks that it means no more job. So far though, we are full of faith that this is God's best, we are excited about the possibilities and are trusting our faithful Lord and Savior to provide (and just in case it needs to be said...we have no hard feelings and we aren't angry!) :-)! We are also both very thankful for all our wonderful family and friends! So, feel free to ask how things are going, feel free to send us any leads and feel free to pray for a fabulous new job! Love to you all~

Found!

Mom called and said that my uncle was found alive!!! At that point they were still trying to get him out and my aunt hadn't actually seen him though she had talked with him. Apparently he fell, broke a bunch of bones, face was bruised pretty bad. Not exactly sure what happened 'cause at this point everyone is just glad he is alive. Thank you so much for praying!!

Please Pray

ImageMy Mom just called...My aunt and uncle (my dad's sister) were hiking in the Grand Tetons in Wyoming yesterday. Apparently, my Aunt & Uncle split up to take different routes down the mountain and my uncle never showed up at the meeting place yesterday afternoon. They are both avid hikers, but as far as I understand it, he only had a sleeping bag, tent and meager amounts of food with him. They've had a search team out looking for him. No luck so far. Please pray that they would find him! Also, please pray for my aunt and all of their kids (adults) as this is obviously very scary for them. Thanks!!

More Happy!

ImageImage
ImageToday is my super favorite oldest younger sister Christen's 26th birthday!! Gungie, first off, thanks for being my friend!! After all those years of me treatin' you like dirt, you still somehow love me...thanks!! Thanks for always being willing to listen and give me biblical advice...you're always the first one I call when I need a good verse to set me straight! Thanks for being willing to tell me I'm an idiot (compassionately of course :-) ). Thanks for loving my kids and always planning special things to do with them, thanks for joining me in all my wild and random craft, party, shopping, whatever ideas (and for pretending you're enjoying yourself!), thanks for taking me to all the antique spots (gotta plan another trip out...more spots to hit!) and for teaching me how to hunt for the bargain. Thanks for always being up for a trip to Target in my sporty car, thanks for making me laugh...hard (you, Bek & Mattie...in no particular order...are my 3 fav funny people...aside from Hun of course. Cause dang, Hun is funny. I digress...). Thanks for trusting the Lord and being a fantastic example to me of being willing to take the step of faith, even if it doesn't automatically seem like the most fun. Thanks for modeling the Lord and being SOOOO generous...you are always giving of yourself- time, work, money, etc...thanks for blessing me! Thanks for watching the kids and for always being up for a coffee/movie day, and thanks for putting up with me. I love you Ham!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Thursday Fav

ImageI know I don't normally do a Friday's Favorites or anything but I just gave the kiddos a bath and thought I'd share my new favorite baby bath products. Ta da! Mrs. Meyers hand soap and hand lotion -it's moisturizing and it smells so yummy! It's got a fresh sweet scent and doesn't smell like baby powder (hallelujah), it also doesn't smell like marshmallows like the Method brand (don't get me wrong, love Method, just not the smell of their baby products...super cute packaging though). So, thanks Grammy! This is my new favorite product! Can't wait to run out so I can go buy some more :-).

HAPPY! HAPPY!

Image
Because I'm an idiot, I totally forgot to post something for two special days that just happened. One was yesterday, my parents' 31st anniversary, and the other was on the 31st of May and it was the day Keegsie first rolled over!! Ha ha, gotcha Bek! :-) Just kiddin', it was my dear sister Rebekah's 23rd birthday! Dad & Mom -thank you for all the meals, all of the time with us and with the kids, all the gifts, all the clothes, all the fun, all the help! Thank you for serving us ALL THE TIME, for all of the prayers we'll never know about, the encouragement you are ALWAYS giving us, the godly examples you both are in living your lives to glorify God (and not us! I know, I think I'm finally learning :-) ). Thanks for giving us something to look to in raising our kids -for helping and teaching us to be wise, kind, generous, hospitable, loving and others focused...most of all, for teaching us to care what the Lord thinks more than what we or anyone else thinks! Thanks for not giving up on me! I'm so grateful for you guys as parents and as friends. I love you both so much! Happy 1 day late anniversary!!!!!!!

Image
Bek, Thank you for being my bestest youngest sister! I am sooo thankful that God has made us not just sisters but great friends!!! Thanks for always making me laugh, thanks for loving my kids, thanks for loving me even when I'm an idiot, thanks for always letting me talk you into a shopping excursion, thanks for letting me dye your hair :-), AND thanks for serving Bobby joyfully during this Richmond "trip" ('cause you're coming back, yay!)... you are an example to me!!! Can't wait until you guys move back (your room's a-waitin)!!! I love you Dog! Happy birthday!!!!!!!

Gweezle and Her Hats

Things have been busy 'round here, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Big news here is that Gwyneth just moved into Austin's room so Killian can have the crib (out of our room, yay!). Since the kiddos are now sharing a room, I decided I'd like to try to decorate so they each have "seperate" personalized areas that are just theirs...the room isn't very big so we'll see how it all works out. One idea I had was to put a collage of pictures up on the wall over each of their beds. (so, pics of Gwee over her bed and pics of Austie over his). 'Cause hey, what girl doesn't like to stare at pictures of herself looking fabulous? So, here's my little girlie girl model showing off her hats. Just made a contact sheet so you can see them all, I'm going to print these up seperately as 8x10s and arrange them a bit differently, but you get the idea :-). Anyone got any ideas for Munch's shots? My brain is in the mush stage right now :-)Image

Dinner Conversation

ImageImageImageOne of Austin's favorite games is having Brian ask him some addition problems so he can figure them out in his head while we are sitting at dinner. Notice I said Brian asks him...we wouldn't get very far if I did the asking :-). Here is a snippet of our dinner conversation tonight (after a couple of rounds of "what's 12+7 or 6+8" etc)-

Austie "Hey dad, can we do some more addition please?" (like seriously, is he Brian's kid or what? Who ASKS to do addition??!)

Brian "What's 33+18?"

"It's 41...no 51"

"Good job buddy! What's 42 + 24?"

"66"

He then proceeds to answer 88+8, 88+18 and 70+31 correctly. In his head. Meanwhile I'm still tryin' to use my fingers :-) Brian told me to pull out my tiddlywinks so I could figure it out. Ha ha.

Great job Munchie Love! God has given you a love for letters & numbers and is enabling you to learn a lot! I'm so proud of you buddy!!

I Knew He Liked Counting... :-)

When we go over to my dad & mom's house, Austin always pulls out a deck of cards and organizes them somehow. Most of the time it's in numerical order or in order of suits and then numerically, but the other day my mom walked in and found this...
ImageImage

Ok, so I didn't see it either at first. Click on the first picture to look closely...there's a pattern.

Need a hint?

Start at the top left card and work your way down the same way you would if you were reading.

Need another hint? I did. I'm not ashamed. :-)

Try putting a + between the first two numbers and an = between the last two.

Yeah. I was amazed too.

Better Late...?!

Well, Killian is almost 3 months old and I finally got his birth announcements finished a week or so ago. We decided that since everyone has already seen him (or pics of him), we'd just send them to family BUT I thought I'd post it here so you all can see it too!ImageImage

Fat Keegs in a Little Suit

Image
Image
Image

Some recent shots of Keegs (as tradition dictated, the nickname was provided by Christen...she's nicknamed all our kids before they were born) in the cutest little outfit from my uncle & aunt. As you can tell, he's put on a little weight since he was born! At his 7 week appointment, he'd grown 2 inches and put on almost 5 pounds! I love how fitted this outfit is on him. Makes him look all skinny (well, his arms) and fat at the same time -LOVE IT! Thanks Uncle Sam & Susie (and Jedidiah, Ben and Erin)! Love you guys!
