Who we are
The International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) is a global association of neuroscience societies dedicated to promoting equitable and inclusive access to neuroscience education, training, research, funding, outreach, and public engagement around the world. To fulfill its mission, IBRO offers a variety of grants and training opportunities to the international neuroscience community, publishes two scientific journals—Neuroscience and IBRO Neuroscience Reports—and hosts the IBRO World Congress every four years.
IBRO’s governing entities, the Governing Council (formed of representatives of IBRO’s member organizations), together with the Board of Directors and the five Regional Committees, with the support of the secretariat, work to address the needs for diversity, equity and inclusion within the global neuroscience community by advancing the careers of individual scientists and supporting research communities around the world. Learn more about IBRO’s governance here.
In addition, IBRO partners with like-minded scientific organizations to identify priorities and help bridge gaps in knowledge, investment, and access to resources and training in the field of brain research.
