Last Updated: 06/29/2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Internet Intro (“Internet Intro”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
1. Who We Are
- Website: internetintro.com
- Operator: Individual, Cyprus
- Contact: [email protected]
2. What Information We Collect
a) Personal Data
- Browsing: No registration is required. We do not collect names, addresses, phone numbers, or other identifying information from general visitors.
- Newsletter: If you voluntarily sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email for the sole purpose of sending updates.
- Contact: If you email us, we collect your email and any information you provide, used only to respond to your inquiry.
b) Technical Data
- Hashed IP for Voting: When you use our like/dislike features, we temporarily store a cryptographically hashed version of your IP address for 7 days, solely to prevent repeated voting by the same person. The hashed IP cannot be reasonably traced back to you by us and is deleted automatically after the retention period.
- Cookies: We use strictly necessary and optional cookies to improve user experience and for site analytics. See "Cookies" below.
- Analytics: We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for aggregate analytics; your IP address may be processed by Google. Google’s privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
c) Submissions
- Site Suggestions: The submit form does not collect personal information. We do not require or encourage you to submit your name, email, or any identifying information.
d) Affiliate Tracking
- Some outbound links may be affiliate links which, when clicked, may allow third parties to set cookies or track interactions according to their respective privacy policies. We do not receive any personal data about users from affiliate partners.
3. How and Why We Use Your Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Website and its core functions (including like/dislike fraud prevention)
- To analyze usage, fix problems, and improve performance (via analytics)
- To manage newsletters and respond to user communications
- To comply with legal obligations and prevent misuse (such as spam or abuse)
4. Cookies Policy
- Essential Cookies: Used for things like remembering voting or session state.
- Analytics Cookies: Google Analytics cookies collect anonymous aggregate data; you may opt out via browser settings or browser add-ons.
- Affiliate Cookies: Some links may set third-party cookies; see the corresponding third-party privacy policies.
You may adjust your browser to block or delete cookies at any time, but essential functionality may be limited.
5. Data Retention
- Newsletter emails: Retained until you unsubscribe, after which they are deleted.
- Hashed IPs: Stored for up to 7 days, then automatically and permanently deleted by us.
- Contact emails: Retained only as long as necessary to address your inquiry.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect data, including regular automated removal (e.g., automatic deletion of hashed IPs via nightly cron job). The only user-identifiable information we might handle—newsletter emails or direct emails sent to us—is secured and not used for any other purpose.
7. Your Rights (EU GDPR)
If you reside in the EEA or another jurisdiction with similar rights, you have the right to:
- Request access to, rectification, or erasure of your personal data (applies to newsletter subscribers and direct contacts).
- Request restriction of or object to data processing under certain circumstances.
- Request a copy of your personal data in a portable format (where applicable).
- Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority if you believe your data has been misused.
For hashed IPs, because we cannot reconnect the hash to your actual IP or identity, we are unable to provide, rectify, or delete individual hashes on request; these are deleted automatically after 7 days.
8. Children’s Privacy
We do not specifically target or knowingly collect information from children under 16 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time. The “Last Updated” date will change accordingly. Your continued use of the Website after modifications constitutes acceptance.
10. Contact
If you have any questions, requests, or concerns regarding privacy, contact us at [email protected].
