What is a science olympiad​?
The International Science Olympiads are a group of worldwide annual competitions in various areas of the formal sciences, natural sciences, and social sciences. The competitions are designed for the 4-6 best high school students from each participating country.
Some of the most famous ISOs include the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) and the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). The aims of each ISO are to promote a career in science and to challenge the brightest students from around the world.
The International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) is an International Science Olympiad in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

IOAI is the international olympiad in AI for high school students
IOAI Mission
IOAI aims to inspire young people globally in science, focusing on AI. We provide a platform for top AI students selected through national competitions to compete, exchange ideas, and build connections, fostering a dialogue on AI’s opportunities and ethical challenges among students and the community.
IOAI Vision
IOAI aspires to become an International Science Olympiad on par with the established ones in terms of participating countries and task level. In collaboration with global organizations and AI experts, IOAI builds a network of future innovators who will shape AI for the benefit of humankind and our planet, while ensuring financial accessibility for all participants.
IOAI GAITE
The IOAI Global AI Talent Empowerment (GAITE) initiative supports countries and territories with limited International Science Olympiads history, helping them integrate into the IOAI community.

IOAI History
The 1st IOAI was in Burgas, Bulgaria August 9-15, 2024 with 41 teams from 32 countries / territories from 6 continents. IOAI 2024 focus was Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision.
