IOAI GAITE

The IOAI Global AI Talent Empowerment (GAITE) initiative is designed to assist countries and territories with limited International Science Olympiads (ISO) history as they work towards joining the IOAI community on an equal footing.

Goals

  • Promote STEM and AI among students globally.
  • Foster inclusivity.
  • Expand the IOAI community.
  • Assist countries / territories in developing their national STEM and AI Olympic culture.
  • Attract additional international partners.

Format

  • Align closely with the standard IOAI format, including team structure, timing, length, and topics, to prepare national teams for eventual transition; special syllabus for GAITE; help with the national selection process
  • Provide a training ground that is less challenging than the standard IOAI format to facilitate preparation.

Eligibility

Open to any country or territory at their discretion.

Team selection

Flexible with a goal of establishing a national selection process by the end of the period. See NOAI guidelines here.

Team participation

Each country or territory can participate with 1 (one) team in GAITE. A country / territory can participate either in IOAI main competition or in GAITE.

Timeframe

The initiative is available for a maximum period of 5 years. Once a country or territory decides to transition from GAITE to the standard IOAI competition, there is no option to return to GAITE.

Alternative awards will be given that distinguish from ISO/IOAI medals,
