Instant all-time favourite, both darkly hilarious and genuinely heartwarming. The kind of blend of emotions that feels effortless in how perfectly it captures the chaotic nature of life (and, well, death). The characters are so charming I'll be thinking about them forever. Roman and Note are both stupid and I love that for them; their rivals-with-an-unspoken-bond dynamic goes beautifully with Semir's infectious enjoyment of the little things in life.

Highly recommend this. Works fantastic as a light quick read, but will also reward you for paying attention to small details if that's how you roll.

10/10, got me emotional about trivia.

NICE. Tolles Konzept und wahnsinnig gut gezeichnet <3

That is very much eligible for the jam, please feel free to submit it :D

LET'S GO LET'S GO LET'S GO MY FAVOURITE MEDIEVAL GAY BOY

I'm not sure how to put all the feelings this book punched me in the face with into a succinct little comment (which is why a detailed review will follow Eventually™). Suffice it to say the story has been on my mind since I first got to beta read it, and it's the kind that has me constantly shitposting about it both out of love and to cope with the pain. :)

Assorted thoughts below. Possibly mild spoilers but nothing you couldn't vaguely gather from the content notes.

- Aylan is my beloved little stupid shithead son. I would've liked him to Not Do Certain Things, but he didn't choose the trauma. Well, not all of it. Insufferable boy who truly deserved better.

- This story is fantastic at portraying each and every one of its characters, all leaving a strong impression (shoutout to the duchess and the princess absolutely slaying with words). I'm the kind of reader who doesn't need them to be good people, often doesn't even want them to be good people, I just need to understand. And this book delivers.

- Fantastic use of foreshadowing, where in many parts it's not even necessarily going for 'subtle', but the story can leave you wondering who to trust (more specifically: do you believe Aylan?) and that's the kind of internal and narrative conflict I love to go through.

- Lin is my beloved little non-stupid non-shithead autistic son. I have fact-checked this with my own autistic brain. Aven is my blorbo. Cordelia is MOTHER (terrifying). Gryff is included in this list.

- The world is super intriguing and feels very lived in. Not everything is explained in great detail - most things aren't, actually - but rather you experience them through the characters who think of it as normal. (Well, varying degrees of normal. Magic and all.)

- Every issue has nuance, every character has agency. Yes, there's homophobia, but not everyone just calls Aylan slurs all day. Yes, his fall from grace tarnishes his reputation, but there are people who (try to) love him, and people who agree with him but struggle within society in different ways. You can tell in every single line of dialogue that these are people.

- This book tackles the nuance of consent and how it goes beyond a simple 'yes or no' in ways I have never seen before and the emotional damage and catharsis alike will stick with me for the rest of my life.

There is SO much to say I'm 100% sure I'm forgetting many more great things right now. But I will return. Many times. G(r)ay Prince... my beloved...

HELL YEAH MORE GUMDOC

Yup, feel free to submit it! :]

as others have said, "unsettling" describes it well. really cool experience and such a unique format to find here. great stuff.

This was fantastic, both in prose and art. Loved the setting and dynamic between the two. Thank you for the meal <3

EAGERLY AWAITING THE OFFICIAL RELEASE

this was fantastic. loving these two and their dynamic :3c thank you for sharing!!

AMAZING!! Thank you for sharing

You absolutely can! I'll be doing the same thing :D

honestly an incredibly uplifting experience even with the "bad ending" because it addresses a particular type of transmasc dread that's hard to put into words. made me feel seen. i genuinely love that i got ending 5 ten times in a row because that IS how my night would go lmao. got endings 3 and 1 after, and loved them. fantastic stuff.

Yes, feel free to submit it to this jam as well! :D

this was great!! the scenario and character interactions are so fun, had me smiling the whole way through.

So cute :D

This was wonderful, I love the art and these two together :)

Loving the vibe of this!! Looking forward to part 2 and 3 :D

Fun demo! I love the party and am excited to see where the story is going after that ending :O

Been obsessed with this since I started playing and cannot recommend it enough (I mean hey, it's free!) - I adore the setting and love each of the characters in their own little messed up ways. (Maybe even you, Len.) The doves are DEAD and they're delightful. Thank you for this fantastically fucked up meal and the genuinely horrible, funny, sad, charming, and terrifying character moments. Very hyped for more.

Side note, I'm also usually someone who prefers downloadable clients but I ended up REALLY loving this on mobile. Played on desktop as well, which ran beautifully, but it also scales really well on a phone screen, making it super cozy to play. Well, as cozy as the subject matter allows. :3c

Loved this!! Beautifully drawn :)

LOVED IT!! Radiata and Jule are such charming characters and their bond made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside from the moment they started interacting. I really appreciate how this story depicted both the joys and at times terrifying doubts that come with a more fluid experience of gender, and Radiata's encouragement was an absolute delight 🫶 Feeling very seen by this, and beyond the great representation, it's also just a super fun story with sexy magic, what's not to love!? ;D

HYPE!!!

LOVED IT. Thank you for writing and sharing this <3

I had no idea itch lets us do that lmao THANK YOUUU for sharing this here as well!! :D This gave me so much strength (all over again) to power through another scene. Everyone, pls look. Aren't they gorgeous. <3

Super cute, hot, and also funny at the end. Loved it :D

LOVED IT. Big fan of Chase. Thanks for writing and sharing <3

thank you so much for giving it a shot and for the kind words!! <3 it means a lot that their questionable charm was able to work its magic

YAY IT'S HERE!!! :D <3

2026 year of the transhet!! >:]

That was adorable (and fun!), such a lovely couple :D

Incredibly cool (and hot and sometimes terrifying) zine. Really fun to go through this reading/looking at a couple of pieces every night. Or whenever you want. But the night time vibes are immaculate. :^)

tl;dr game good, everyone should play it

  • The entire art direction - peak. Love the UI, really enjoyed the style of the backgrounds, and I can't wait to see the placeholder portraits get updated because everyone we do see so far looks absolutely fantastic.
  • Getting to do a little "character creation" at the start is so fun. Gonna pick increasingly wilder backstories as I try other routes/options in future playthroughs.
  • Speaking of routes, I went into this thinking "okay, I'm just gonna be really in love with Aspen and Inés" purely based on vibes/the type of character I usually like the most, but then Moxie smirked at me and it was all over /positive
  • Excellent writing. The setting is SO intriguing. I love that I feel both at home and afraid in a town full of people I can't fully trust but do anyway because I find them all endearing in their own way. Send help
  • The dialogue options are always fun. Thank you for letting me be reasonably normal and/or reasonably snarky and/or flirt awkwardly with Hot Person I Just Met.
  • You know it's real when you spam the screenshot shortcut and the game makes you scream on Discord (there were many "I WON!!!!!!!!!"s about scenes involving Aspen. Th-this is my man. He was made for me.)
  • The cliffhanger is killing me, THANKS (still positive)

On a more serious note for anyone reading this trying to decide if they should play it - my answer is obviously yes, but if you know the missing portraits or sound would bother you, you are now legally obligated to at least tell the devs you're looking forward to the full game. Doing that will protect you when the night comes, true story. :^)

This one's SO fun!! The interaction and tension between Nua and Heden is fantastic. And the snark! What a great collab, both the art and writing made me fall in love instantly :D

<3 <3 <3

LOVED IT. I have never felt more like the target audience in my life. The vibes and the characters are super fun, and the snippet of what you have planned looks SO COOL :D Looking forward to more!!

Not a gamedev, but found this super insightful as a creative in general and will share it with my game-making friends :) Thank you for making this!
