Amazing artwork ngl! Its impressive that you created the robot from scratch for a game jam! Here are some feedbacks:
- The performance is a bit concerning especially on running on web. Pretty sure is caused by the massive amount of trees in the terrain. For this you can try occlusion culling which you can look it up on the web and see how it works. Basically it will cull all the static items that is not rendered by the camera which can save up a ton of performance.
- Like others have mentioned, the camera is a bit difficult to control since it depends on purely keyboard input but not mouse input. I think it will feel a lot better with the mouse input for camera control.
- At first I wasnt sure what to do since no visual indication / tutorial so im a bit confuse. For now i just feel like im wandering endlessly. Somehow i dont see any HUD like the battery gauge too for some reason.
- Would love to have some audio feedback whenever you activate something / pick up something / low on battery.
- The main menu does looks very nice tho. I appreciate the hard work you put into it ;D
But overall great work tho. I wonder how it will go if you expand it in the future. Hope these helps!
Very interesting game with cool concept! Here are some feedbacks:
- The text are too close to each other, you can adjust the spacing for each TMP component so that its easier to read. Now everything is clumping together and its very difficult to read.
- Like some mentioned, currently there's no cost at all so player can play all their hand in every turn and that makes the game too easy. Need some balancing on the cost & effect. I noticed that each card has some number on it and u can use that as stamina kind of thing which is pretty common in most card games to limit how the players use their hand so they have to think carefully before using any cards.
- Would love to have some music bgm and more SFX to make the game more juicy. Things like that will improve the whole game experience by a lot.
Great work on completing such interesting game tho! Hope these help ;D
Like others mentioned, the UIs are overlapping and its a little bit buggy like the train will derail but tbh it was funny to see how the trains going to somewhere it shouldn't lol. Really like the camera smooth movement tho and the environment looks nice and detailed. Just one more thing which is the Unity default scene (the blue and grey background) is breaking the immersion. It would be great if u add a skybox that will definitely help with that issue. The UI does need some extra work but hey the mechanics and everything is all there so great work for a game jam!
Pretty unique approach to the theme that i have not seen yet. Here are some feedbacks:
- Somehow all the sounds / voice over is a bit too soft on my end not sure is my laptop issue or the voice itself. I have my laptop at max volume and yet i can barely listen to it.
- Love the spring joint physics on the connectors tho, looks kinda funny seeing them bouncing.
- Right now it feels a bit repetitive after playing the game for some time. Would love to have some variations / challenge if the player got x amounts of correct. So at first the caller will mention 1 name and that makes it straight forward on who to connect to. Then as the player gets more correct, the caller will start to mention more and more names and only 1 of it is the right one. This introduces some tweaks to the gameplay so players have to focus on the conversations to prevent them from missing out something important.
Anyways, good work!
Got pretty confused since usually this kind of game is played using mouse but somehow i have to use keyboard for this one which I found pretty funny lol. Its a short and cute game but i noticed that the hint is behind the text on the mountain level which blocks off the image. small issue but worth noticing. Great work!
Thats impressive for a game jam! I loved the aesthetics of the game, all the arts looks so beautiful and magnificent. It was fun finding out whos the culprit and oh boy Absolute Cinema is what i can say. I would love to have more audio feedback tho since now it feels like thats the only part that is lacking of. This is in my collection for sure. Great work and well done!
I liked the aesthetics of the game but i also got a bit confused at first since i didnt know what to do. I was able to move the camera to somewhere else before the game starts and then once the game starts my camera is rendering somewhere else lol. Its a small bug but not many people might notice it so i think thats fine but just something for you to take note about. Overall, good work!
Pretty interesting story line with the connection puzzle. I was a bit confused on the X block at first since i can rotate it and the current can pass to it but then in realized that its like a wall that blocks off the current. A simple UI showing all the symbols like a map legend should solve this issue tho. Overall, good work!
Very simple and cute game. Here are my feedbacks:
- As you mentioned, add in audio and it will make the game feels so much better.
- Would love to be able to place change the puzzle pieces after placing one of them. Now once placed, the position is fixed.
- If you have some extra time, you can decorate your landing page so it looks more attractive and people will more likely to give it a try.
As a first time game jamer, you are doing so much better compared to a lot of people! Keep up the good work :D
