Happy Father's Day...

This year for Father's day we decided to go down to Italy, which is great for Etienne (and us), but not so great for my dad since we won't get to talk.  So this is a special post to you dad.

So I told Siena we weren't going to be able to talk to you for a couple weeks, as well as for Father's day.  This is how she took it....

I am so grateful for the relationship you have with my kids.  They love to be around you.  Perhaps its due to the small difference in maturity levels, or because they can so easily understand your sense of humor, but I think its probably just because you're ridiculously fun.

It is so fun to see the things the kids have inherited from you...

I am sad you won't be able to meet Mabel for a while, but I hope that we will be able to make up for it in the upcoming years.

I am so grateful that I get to know you in this life and am even more grateful that I get to be your daughter.  Thanks for all you do for me, for us.  Thanks for all you continue to teach me.  Thanks for the greatest gift you may have ever given me besides my life--your example.  I love you so much Dad.  Have a great Father's Day.

Siena backlog

I just found this video of Siena from just a few days before Edison's birth. She was 14 months then and its only been 3 months, but its amazing how much she has grown.

.

Siena has been learning lots. She started talking at 8 months, walking at 9 1/2 months and our world has been the amazing race ever since

Edison Taft Eggenberger is born! This time I knew it would be a C-section a week or so before the birth, so it wasn't quite as much of a shock as the last time. Things went really smoothly and our little man was born very healthy with no complications and an apgar score of 9 after a minute--pretty awesome!

Don't you love the 70's style hospital clothes they put the baby in here!!

This was definitely a rare moment when Siena was happy in the hospital.

Guess what... I'm pregnant!

OK not really, but I thought I would document a little of the end of my last pregnancy. So for those of you who didn't know, I was pregnant!! Here's a pic of the moments before the birth.

Let's try this again...

What to say, what to say... Yes I know I have been quite remiss in posting as of "late", and yes I have recieved many threats over that time due to the lack of pictures of the little girl who runs the show here, and yes I am sorry, but we're back. The last "few" months have been only slightly eventful, so get ready for some all star posting coming up.

Deutschland, Deutschland

The Eggenberger Women

Easter was so much fun this year since we decided to take a trip to Stuttgart (Germany) to see Etienne's sister Roberta and her husband Wolfgang. As a last minute addition, Etienne's parents and sister Susanna decided to join us which made for a lot more fun.
We left on Sunday after church and got there in the late afternoon. The weather was beautiful, so we spent the evening out in the country in Wolfgang's sister's garden/yard. (Here because of space restrictions in the cities, people often rent or buy pieces of land in the country and make them into whatever they want-- gardens, or just a yard away from home.)
We stayed the night at Roberta's and the next day we went to Ludwigsburg to see the castle there which was amazing. Apparently the guy who used to live there loved fairy tales, especially Rapunzel, so he built what he thought her tower should look like on the grounds. Now the castle and grounds are more of a museum and they've even built an entire village made up of an assortment of fairy tales. It was a lot of fun, but after the walking around the castle for several hours we were exhausted. So we headed back to Roberta's for a late lunch and then said goodbye. We had a lot of fun catching up since we don't get to see them that often and hope to visit again soon. Thanks guys for letting us crash your Easter festivities.

As for me....

And now for the reasons I haven't been blogging...I've been pretty busy too I guess. In January I went back to work teaching English, but only started with one student again--one hour a week---not too bad. I started taking Pilates which you still can't tell from my waistline or any other part of my body for that matter. I've also been doing a lot more photography. I've done about7 or 8 shoots in the last month alone, one of which was Dani's (Etienne's brother)engagement session. Congrats Dani. I'll post some of those pics later. I've thrown one baby shower with my co-host Stephi and will be throwing another one tomorrow actually. The first went really well and I'll let you know how the second goes. Sean and I have been working on my website. I say I, but really it was all Sean's talent, and my nagging. Sorry Sean. I will also post on that. We went to Germany for Easter-- lots of fun with Roberta and Wolfgang (Etienne's sister and bro-in-law) and I've been having fun with Siena. She is pretty amazing. Keep reading there are many more posts to come.
