Summer Mornings

While here in Fayetteville we have been living on a golf course.  Jordan hasn't been able to go golfing, but we did rent a golf cart and rode around on it one morning before work.

All summer Jordan has been working hard on grad school stuff (studying for tests, writting esssays . . .), well last week he submitted his PTCAS application (he'll still have more to do next month) so we have been able to enjoy a few mornings with him again, and it has been great!  We decided to take him to the library yesterday.  Calin had a blast reading and doing puzzles with him.

There is also an outdoor reading area on the second floor with a view of Fayetteville

Sunday

Yesterday after church Whitney and I ventured out in the mid-day heat for a quick maternity shoot.
I always get nervous taking pictures for people, especially if they are a photographer themselves, but we had fun, and since she is so gorgeous it made my job super easy!

It was around 3:30 when we got back, and this is what I found

She's such a cuddly baby.  I love it!

(Calin was also asleep, but in his own bed.  And I'm not sure why Jordan has earphones in. I think he was listening to a conference talk)

We were going to walk around the University of Arkansas (home of the razorbacks) campus Sunday evening, but it was still too hot so we just drove around the town a bit.  When we got back all the kids got together for some fun with a pinata that has been in the office all summer.  It was cute watching them hit it I was surprised that none of them were super excited about the candy when it fell.  I think us parents had to pick up most of it :)

We also skyped with Matt & Mickie which was fun.  Calin and Ty kept kissing the screen.  And Calin kept trying to give "knuckles" to Matt.  He also tried sharing his balloons with them.  lol.  They are such cute kids!

Oh, and Jordan has been working about an hour away, so while I waited for him to get home Saturday night I made Capri another dress for church on Sunday.  Every time I would take a pictures she would stick her tongue out at me :)

Sundays are Jordan's only day off in the summer, so they are our favorite!  This is Jordan's last week of work so next Sunday we will be on the road moving back to Idaho, with maybe a few detours on the way :)

Capir's Newborns

Last night I finally got around to editing Capri's newborn photos that we took when she was 9 days old.
And this morning I threw together an announcement. Maybe I'll get around to mailing them out, but in case I don't, here it is

Here are some of my favorites

My friend and photographer Whitney came over when Capri was 9 days old to help me with the pictures.  It was a bit of a challenge since Calin and her little girl were there also, but my mom took good care of them for the hours we spent with Capri.  Here are some that Whitney took . . .

The lighting in our apartment was a major issue, but we did what we could with it.  And though there were still shots I wanted and never got, I'm really happy with these ones.

Fayetteville Library

Image

We finally made it to the Fayetteville library last Friday.
It's huge.  With a fabulous kid section!
Calin spent over an hour at a table doing puzzles.
He's been asking to go go back ever since.
Hopefully we'll make it there today :)

Summer Sunday

We have less than two weeks left, and as excited as I am to move, I am going to miss this so much . . .
Image

Sunday evening after dinner with friends, we gathered in the center of the roundabout here at our apartment complex. We played with the kids, the guys threw around a football, and snacked on some yummy treats.  We had a great time, and it made me realize just how much I will miss this summer once it has passed.

When playing "ring around the rosy" Calin falls like he's on a trampoline.  Pretty sure it would hurt if he didn't have so much fun doing it.

ImageThis cute girl has the prettiest eyes I have ever seen.  My lacking photography skills really can't do them justice, but this pic is straight out of camera - no photoshop, so you can kind of get an idea.  They really are even more stunning in person!

The kids have so many "cars" and they love to push each other around on them.

We have made so many great friends this summer, and we will miss every one of them!

Fayetteville, Arkansas

Image
We have been in our new Fayetteville apartment for a week and a half now.  We moved on the 31st, and spent the first couple days cleaning.  Our apartment was built a couple years ago, but we are the first to live in it, unless you count the bizzilion spiders that had taken over the place.  Oh it was horrible!!  Our front door, showers, and every window were sealed shut with spiderwebs.  Dead bugs, spiders, and webs were EVERYWHERE!  So despite the whole bug-factor, it is a nice apartment.  Even bigger than the one we had in Little Rock.  The furniture is also nicer.  I'm especially loving the bed.

Ok, so onto more fun stuff.  The weather our first week here was KILLER!  Too hot to do anything.  Even dry my hair, or go get the mail.  So if we went outside at all, it was only to make the short walk to and from the car.  We did however make it to the cute frozen yogurt shop CherryBerry quite a few times (4 actually).  I have been enjoying Fayetteville despite the heat.  It's a cute college town, smaller than Little Rock, still with lots to do.

This week though, the weather has been great!  This morning we went out to breakfast and it was 75!  40 degrees cooler than it was last week.  But it was also raining, so we stayed inside most of the day.  Monday was great though.  In the 80's and clear for most of the day.  We finally made it to the pool.

And since it was raining and we were stuck inside, I attempted to conquer my fear of making clothes for Capri.  For some reason they just intimidate me, so I started with this simple pillowcase dress tutorial.  And then made a headband to match.

Hopefully now I can attempt some bigger projects.
