via Instagram http://ift.tt/1APuNjF I'm so mad at this cake. Not only was the frosting already destroyed when I picked it up, but apparently leprechaun green is the same as mint ombré. No, no it's not! I even gave them a color sample to match it to. Guess I'll be frosting my own mint ombré cake for Taylor's cake smash tomorrow morning. 😕 #iamnotacakedecorator #neitherarethey

Vertuccio Farms
This morning we went to Vertuccio Farms' Fall Festival with some friends. The kids had a blast! There was so much to do there. Fall is so much fun here! And for good reason! It's finally starting to cool down (our highs are still in the 90's, but at least our lows are getting better, making it feel tons cooler!) and after a long hot summer, everyone is ready to get back out and party. So I'm looking forward to all the fall fun this year!
Calin and Blake had SO much fun on this thing!! Capri stayed at the bottom the whole time.
Capri might not look super happy, but this rubber ducky race was her favorite. She loved it!
This bike was huge, and super hard for him do do, but he did great, and rode it for probably 10 minutes.
Calin was making friends everywhere. He and this little boy decided to ride together on the barrel ride. I love how friendly he is!
Proof Taylor was there. He hung out in the stroller most of the time. I took him on the giant slide two times. The first time he was pretty scared and tried flipping around so he could burry his face into me, the second time he faced forward the whole time, but when I looked at him at the bottom, he was so sad and was starting to cry. Poor guy. He is not a thrill seeker. . . yet.
This is how tall the slide is. That's my friend Brittany up there with her 14month little guy. He loved the slide and even went down by himself! Capri wouldn't go up, and there is a smaller one that I was going to force her on with me, but when we got up there she insisted on going on the big one. She loved it, but still wanted to go back to the swings after.

LDS Conference Weekend
I'm pretty sure I have the cutest kids ever.
This morning Calin woke me up a little after 6:00am (I'm not a morning person). He excitedly whispered in my ear "Mom, can we watch general conference now?" I smiled and melted a little at his sweetness and said "In a few hours we can." He was bummed he had to wait, but when 9:00 rolled around he was seated and ready to be spiritually uplifted :)
I printed out some conference activity packets for the kids to do. Capri spent the whole first session doing hers. Calin went back and forth between his packet and listening to talks. Taylor slept through both sessions, and Capri napped through the whole second session (Jordan has to work this weekend at the hospital, so he wasn't home). It was a quite day. Peaceful, slow, relaxing. Full of power, and light, inspiration and truth.

{do you see my notebook? It's super special. My grandma made it, and it has 10 years of General Conference notes in it. It's almost full, and that makes me sad, but she gave me another one this summer and I'm excited to start filling that one too}
When the first 2hr session ended Calin said, "It's over already?" Then during the second session (another 2 hours) he said "I love General Conference!" And he really does. He did this little activity where he traced his hands and then wrote ways he could be helpful in our home. He worked on this all by himself. I would sneak a peak once in a while and it was the cutest thing to watch. Once he had quite a few, I told him that was probably enough, he only needed two, but then he said "hmm, I just need to think a little harder . . . " and put a few more down.
I wrote them at the top, but this is what he came up with:
help, pray, learn, choose the right, healthy, work, baptize, clean.
After the second session we played a game and made some cookies together and Capri said, "Mom, there are a lot of cookies so we can share with our friends, right?!" I had actually made them with the intent of sharing them, but I hadn't told her that yet, so it was sweet she was thinking about her friends and wanted to share with them.

At 5:00 the men go to a priesthood session of conference, so we went to the park with some friends. It was a beautiful evening. And a great way to end such a wonderful day.

Capri's First Field Trip {Schnepf Farm}
Today was Capri's first preschool field trip. Schnepf Farm is in Queen Creek, and a great place for lots of fun fall activities. (last year's trip to Schnepf Farm)
They have carnival rides, bouncy giant pillow trampolines, pig races, hay rides, train rides, petting zoo, and of course a pumpkin patch. We had such a fun time with friends today.
And more friends...
SOOIE!! That's my little Arkie ;)
And the tiny pumpkin she picked out. She told me she wants to color eyebrows and a happy face on it. Haha!

This is Capri and her little bestie Lyndi. We carpool to preschool, and it's adorable what good friends these two have become. Girl friends are so different than boy friends. Hearing these two talk to each other and play together is the sweetest thing!

It was a hot day. Definitely didn't feel like fall, but we still had a great time! And it got me excited for the cooler weather that should be coming soon. Fall is the best here in Arizona!

via Instagram http://ift.tt/1rOoxa7 I've been told it's fall. Still feels very much like summer to me, so a field trip to Schnepf Farm today was just what we needed.

Baby Grace
A few weeks ago my 5th niece was born. And I got to fly out to Washington to meet her.
She is a doll! Unlike her 3 towhead siblings, she has dark hair. She also eats like she's a 10 pounder (she was born 6 lbs 15 oz). And she rarely makes a peep. She was often wrapped up in a snuggly blanket on the couch and more than once I almost picked up the blanket to fold and put away. She's just that quiet, you forget she's even there. But not really forget, cause how can you forget about something this cute.
I took hundreds of photos of this little lady. It was the best having a newborn at my disposal! I crammed my carry-on suitcase full of blankets, hats, wraps, headbands, camera, and all the things I could to use for her photos. Then I packed only the bare essentials for me and Taylor in my purse giant bag.
It was Taylor's first time flying. And he loved it. He just bounced around trying to get everyone's attention, then finally passed out about 1hr before landing.
I couldn't help it. I started taking photos of Grace as soon as I arrived.
Taylor had a blast playing with his cousins and aunt and uncle. I don't think he noticed for a second that Calin and Capri weren't around.
We did take a couple walks while I was there. It was so nice being able to go outside (summer in Phoenix is way too long) and see so much green!
And I had so much fun visiting with Mickie. We really do need to get together more often! I miss her, and all my sisters-in-law (even my newest one Pam, who I yet to meet). I grew up with two brothers and always wanted a sister. Now I have 5, and they are pretty fantastic!! I feel super blessed! Thanks Matt & Mickie for such a fun weekend!
