What we've been up to...

Jared brought home these little lights that slide on to your fingers.  We had a light show all over the house.  Caleb thought it was more fun to put them on his feet and helped Daddy do it too.

Sam has the best bus driver ever.  His bus driver got permission to take supplies to and sing for a local nursing home.  This is Sam practicing with his little buddy before the show.

Caleb got to ride on the bus from the nursing back to the school.

We got to go to Colorado for a week to go snowboarding with some friends.  On our way to the slopes we got to see some old friends.  Thanks Thomas family for hanging out with us and our crazy kids.

Grandma came too and helped with the kids.

We lucked out.  It snowed the day we got there and a few times while we there so we got lots of powder.  Yay.

They had an ice rink in the middle of the village resort.

 Caleb loved the snow.

Good thing he didn't get his tongue stuck.

The kdis had so much fun ice skating.

We even got to see Santa.

Caleb wouldn't sit on his lap but he did get pretty close.  When Santa asked if he had been a good boy Caleb said, "no".

Sam

I love this kid.  The first time I laid eyes on him I finally understood the term sweetheart.  I've thought many times since, "Oh my sweet heart.  Does life get any better than this!"  He is an amazing kid, so thoughtful, artistic, sensitive, and all boy.  I took these pictures, in November, when the leaves were changing.  What a cutie.

Some fall pictures of Caleb

It's fall.  Yay!  I love the fall and the weather here has been amazing most days.  I took some pictures of Caleb this morning.  I'm still learning how to take pictures and edit them so they're not perfect but I think some of them turned out okay due to the fact that I have the cutest little model and leaves are so spectacular.

Caleb had his 3 year check up recently.  He's 38 3/4 inches tall and 34 lbs.  He's 50-75th percentile for height and 50th for weight.

Reminiscing...

Sam just turned 6 the other day.  A couple days before his birthday we were talking and I told him I remembered the day he was born, how little he was and all that good stuff.  I asked if he wanted to see a picture and I took him online to our blog.  We looked through pretty much the past 6 years of his life and I realized that I've neglected this poor little blog for too long.  I figured nobody cared or read it so why bother but I care and my kids care and that's why I need to keep it up.  I am not a writer but Sam loved hearing all the stories so I need to write down the stories that go along with the pictures because I know all too well that I will forget.  I'll forget names, places, and things we've done so I need to actually write it.  I will apologize now for my terrible writing.  I usually start half-way through a story and use way too many pronouns and I never remember any grammar rules, run-on sentences, commas in all the wrong places and who knows when to really use a semi-colon.  Anyways, the point is, if anyone ever looks at this blog, feel free to skip the stories and just look at the pictures.  All of my english teachers would be rolling in their graves if they were dead and read this.

I've got a lot to catch up on since my last post about last Christmas.  Sam graduated from preschool, we went to Colorado, Utah, Lake Powell, Disneyworld, the beach, Sam started kindergarten, Caleb turned 3 and Sam turned 6.  It's going to take me a while to go through all of pictures and adventures from the last nine months so I'll start with some things from this month.

Caleb, Jared and Sam had birthdays.  Caleb's was first.  I think he had a pretty fun day.  He had blueberry muffins for breakfast and we went to Wendy's for lunch.  He had chicken nuggets and chocolate milk and got some pretty cool "Where's Waldo" glasses.  He seemed a little confused throughout the day when people would sing or say happy birthday but by the end of the day when he had cupcakes and opened presents he realized that it was a special day just for him.

He sure is cute.

Jared's birthday was next.  We brought him breakfast in bed but he was already ready for the day.  I did find some pretty awesome celebration glasses for all of us.

Sam's birthday was last.  I think he had a pretty great day too.  He had french toast for breakfast and then Caleb and I surprised him at school and had lunch there with him.  That night he used his birthday money from family to buy a Jake and the Neverland Pirates game for his leapster and we went to Chucky Cheese for dinner (one of his favorite places to go).

We had a combined birthday party for Sam and Caleb last week.  It was pirate themed and the kids had a blast.
The cake.  I saw the idea on pinterest.  Mine didn't turn out as well but oh well.  The kids mostly ate cupcakes so reminder to myself just to make cupcakes next year or a really small cake with cupcakes.  We told the kids that Davy Jones was recruiting them to join his crew but in order to join they had to find the pirate swords he had hidden in a special treasure chest.  The kids loved it.  We had fun playing pin the treasure chest on the map, in a pirate treasure island bounce house, and with the pinata.

Sam is playing soccer again this season.  This is his third season and he's got one friend, Landon, who has been on his team all three seasons.  (He's also in his kindergarten class.)  He enjoys soccer and we love watching him and cheering him on.

I love this kid too.  I got some pretty good shots of him even though he was making faces in a lot of them.

Sam also had a fieldtrip to the pumpkin patch this week and I got to chaperone.  I was so excited I got to go with him.  He was pretty excited too.

This is Sam talking to his "girlfriend" according to some of the little girls in his class.  I've been dying to meet this girl since the first day of school.  Sam has talked nonstop about this little girl since that first day of school.  She is pretty cute.

I had to take this picture of Sam today.  We came home from soccer and he went straight to painting.  He loves art and can stay focused for hours when doing it.
