Easter

Easter was perfect! We spent Saturday watching General Conference. Between the two sessions we did an egg hunt in the back yard. Grant really didn't understand what to do until we showed him the candy inside the eggs:) We also dyed a few eggs (food coloring is amazing!) Sunday we watched more General Conference, ate cinnamon rolls & cooked dinner. Before dinner John gave a short lesson on the Savior. How grateful we are for all the blessings the gospel brings into our lives. We love being able to teach that to Grant everyday.

A few days before Easter my brother & his family came into town. We all got together and went glow in the dark put put golfing at the mall. The kids had so much fun. Even Grant figured out what to do with the ball and stick. Then we all hung out at my parents, ate lunch, went swimming and ate more yummy food for dinner. It's always fun to be with family:)

Last weekend we were able to go visit our niece for her sweet 16 birthday party. Really 16 already?? I know she isn't even my daughter & I about cried all day over that little fact. It has been a blessing to watch her grow up into a very accomplished, beautiful, funny, gracious young women. We love you E!

This month has been really fun. Not for any particular reason, except that we are just in love with each other & are having too much fun being parents! I love and struggle with each phase of Grants life. He learns so quickly and is growing up too fast! Tantrums are in full swing around here, but more often than those, dancing and laughing & trying to have conversations fills our days to the brim. We can't believe he'll be 2 next month.

John made him a toddler bed & he adjusted to it very well. He is getting much better sleep at night & bonus he is eating better b/c of it:) Now if I can just finish the quilt for him:)

Enjoy some pictures from this month:)

Life happens too fast

Spring is here! I spent the a good part of my morning taking it slow with Mr. G outside. We crunched some leaves, felt the wind blow on our faces, skinned knees & threw rocks everywhere. The sun seeped into my soul. It was a glorious spring morning.

I was dreading updating the blog for a couple months now.
Not for any reason other than I have thousands of pictures of life happening since thanksgiving & I have been to lazy and busy to organize them.

So here is my update since the holidays.

Christmas was relaxing. We had lots of fun family time & too many sweets.
Grant loved putting up the Christmas tree and playing with the lights.
Christmas morning we had a fun time showing grant the ropes on how to open gifts.
He wasn't as excited as we thought he would be, but he just didn't really understand.

After the holidays he had another ear infection. This time it ruptured. Then it was followed by a cold.
He was left with a cough that is still present to this day:(
Now he was 5 new teeth, working on 6. I must say he is a champ with all of this.

There are too many updates on him, but I'll try to remember them all.
He made it to 20.8 lbs!!! Even the nurse cheered:)
Still a picky eater, but trying new things (love spicy & lots of flavor)
Love all the typical kid things, puzzles, blocks, animals, books, outside, pretending, running around like the Incredible's  (fav. movie)
John & I made him a cardboard box kitchen that he spends most of his days playing at.
He loves to mimic everything we do these days.
He loves order (explanation: has to put things back where they go EXACTLY, has to pretend vacuum EVERY spot & corner that I do, is a champ at plugging and unplugging everything)
Right now he even puts his toys away right where they go when he is finished with them without me asking most of the time. I know this won't last very long, so this mama's is relishing it:)
He loves music and dancing all day long.
Hates going to nursery alone.
Loves learning.
Can count to 10 on his own & working on up to 20.
Learning his alphabet.
Loves listening to sounds outside (can point out a plane from anywhere)
He is at the stage where he loves to make us laugh.
Practices things until he gets it just right (going down the steps without holding on & jumping) This is really fun to watch him to practice over and over until he is satisfied.
Doesn't like bubbles in the bubble bath (I gave him his first real bubble bath a few weeks ago, he's a shower baby all the way)
Mr. G is so fun, but has hit the tantrum age. We are figuring that out one day at a time.
For the most part he is a very good listener.
Life is so beautiful with our little guy in it.

There is so much more I could write about him, but you get the picture.
John and I have been keeping busy as usual.
John is working so hard & is the best dad to grant & BEST husband EVER!!
I keep busy with Grant during the days.

I was writing in my journal the other day about how happy I was being their wife and mother. I have never felt more fulfilled and loved. My life is more than amazing:)

We just got back from a road trip to see some family. We drove through the night both there and back. It was hard, but so worth it. We had so much fun and miss everyone terribly already.

I know this is a really random post and mostly about Grant, but I just had to get something written down.

Here are LOTS of pictures to show what we've been up to (I didn't bother writing all of it)
There won't be this many pics again, just major catch up:)
