Graduation

The graduation ceremony was indeed a memorable one. Tun Dr Mahathir was given an honarary doctorate and I was able to see and hear him in person for the first time. The funniest part was ween the electricity terputus midway through the ceremony! Kesian the one who was receiving his certificate at that time. Thankfully there was no recurrence and it all went and ended up well..

Then there was the graduation dinner. Indeed it was a heavy-hearted time to say "till we meet again" as it had been 5 years since we met and grew from young innocent students to adults.

Sadly, for the souvenier part, my messages were not complete as it was accidently deleted before all the messages were taken from the blogspot. I hope no one else had the same fate. Therefore, i would appreciate if those who had written a message for me kindly rewrite it here and post it in this blog. I have safely received messages from the following - Tek Jee, Saleha, Kee Huat, Gordon, Chi Wooi, Shang, Uma, Jen Ern, Sabena, Benjamin, Beh, Yu Ying, Raj, Zhi Yong, Anu and Sabena. Thanks heaps!

All the best, God bless

finally made it

Its over!!! I have finally finish my 5 year course in IMU. I really thank God for bringing me through this course. From ending up in IMU, to providing the finances, to going through each hurdle of exams and finally stepping out. Along the way, getting to know so many people, especially a handful of my close friends and Tj. Thanks to my beloved parents, brother and twin for the finances, prayers and support. Its been a long and tough journey that made me aged quite a lot.

Looking forward for my holidays before starting work, hopefully in Alor Setar. Plan to break away from my books especially psychiatry. Making plans for my Sabah backpacking with my loved ones. Aiyah, need to start exercise and train for 8 hours hike up Mt kinabalu.

Wish congrats to all my batchmates. I salute those who got the distinction. To those who didnt make it through, you will pull through. To the rest of us, all the best, till we meet at convo to be confered the title "doctor".

its almost 2 months

Time passess really quickly...

I completed my medical posting in Batu Pahat and am half way thru O&G. I wondered what have I achieved...

Thank God I adapted to the new environment in about 2-3 weeks. Thank God that I started with medical posting and received much guidance from Dr Vela about adjusting to portfolios and more focused ward work. Oh, ya...CFCS.. was done in quite a rush but thankfully I did manage to do to the best I can in the short time frame. Should have not procastinated to do it during radio and anaes posting or sem9 hols. but no regrets:)

O&G has been really interesting with the hands on experience. Since we were quite limited in Seremban hospital, its been a good exposure in the delivery suite of HBP. We have to achieve a minimum of conducting 5 vaginal deliveries, conducting 2 episiotomies, assisting 2 obs surgery and assiting 2 gynae surgery.Yea, cases are limited and we have to rush with others, but there's wnough patients if we are lucky.

Christian Fellowship here has been encouraging every week. So far, we have not fail to meet every Wed to share with one another as well as to take turns to share from the bible and take time to worship God. Tek Jee righfully describes it as BPH (Batu Pahat Haven).

It was an emotional turmoil to have a beloved family member ill back home. But I thank God for those who have been there to support during the bereavement of my grandma. May her soul rest in peace.

Going to get busy with meetings for grad dinner and Kampung Angkat project. Need to start praying for God's direction for housemenship placing.

Batu Pahat

I made it to Batu Pahat. House23 is now clean and tidy after 2 days of hard work, thanks to my two other dear housemates, Suni and Deena... Apparently we all have some obsession with cleaniless, partly due to allergic rhinitis. Now that I am blogging obviously shows that my house has an internet connection. Wah...what a long storey...

Starting with internal medicine. Thank God for such kind lecturers who gave us some leniency to settle into this district. Life will go on as usual soon. Our thoughts now are no longer on exams but on work- portfolios, logbook, CFCS, quotas etc.... and more so to develop soft skills.

Looking forward to gain a wider experience in the practice of medicine.
God grant me wisdom.

Moving on

Thank God that I've passed the first part of my final professional exam. I rejoice that all of us in the batch made it thru, 83 of us. It was a journey that I myself found it tough, but it is indeed God's grace that saw each one of us thru. Now that I have around 5-6 months left of studies in Batu Pahat, I hope to make the best of my student days.

I look forward to work, but at the same time, i have mixed feelings about it. But I do hope my posting in BP will prepare me for what is to come. Will be parting with my current housemates, and will be leaving with a new found friends. Hope it will be an enriching experience to learn from people of a different background.

Meanwhile, I pray that I will continue to walk in God's will.
