Grandma Robinson/McDonald

My Grandma was a beautiful lady.  I have so many fond memories of her throughout my childhood and on to my adulthood.  There are many special memories that I will cherish for ever and always of her and our kids.  She loved them so much, and was always eager to hear about what phase they were in, and what they were up to.

She always loved holding and talking to the kids.

Every time she would see Lola she would say that she looked so much like me.  It was special to me that she remembered me as a baby.  She would ooh and aah over Lola. This was their first time meeting each other.

I am so grateful for the plan of salvation, and the knowledge that I have that families will be together forever.  It gave me peace at this time.  I was and always will be sad that my grandma passed away, but my heart is happy that she is reunited with my grandpa and that I will see both of them again one day.

Utah Trip!

We were so excited to take our little family back to our old stomping grounds!  Lola had never been and Colt was about Lola's age the last time we went.  (These pictures are from October 2013, I am just a little bit behind, yikes!)

We stayed at Daniel and Jerilyn's new house.  The kids had a blast.  Here are the boys cruising.

 All bundled up.

I had to make the boys matching football beanies!

Lola the cheerleader had to pictured in her outfit too!

It was wet, snowing and really cold!  my "superfan" status from when John played was completely revoked.  I never even made it up to the stands, I hung out under the bleachers for a bit, then back to the house the kids and I went!

It was such a fun trip to visit family and to just be up in Utah.

Random Cuteness

I will get to those in a little, but first I have some random cute pictures to share.

Lola got into the chips!  She definitely didn't let that bag beat her, she was getting into it no matter what.  This is her "What you going to do about it", face.
Image
This is Lola's "cheese" face. It gets us every time!
Image
Sorry Lola I'm not picking on you, I just love you and your spunk!
John says that we are twins in the morning.  Blankets around our necks and bed head.
Image
Anytime anyone is on the floor Lola runs as fast as she can and hops on their back.  Colt was the victim this time.  Payback.
Image

I see this and think of butterfly kisses.
Image
My children are put to work modeling for me.  Good thing they are awesome at it, or maybe I am just awesome at bribing them with anything they want.  Their cuteness really is undeniable though.

Colt's First Day Of Preschool

Who me?  I have a kid that is old enough for preSCHOOL?  What?! No way!  Isn't that unreal, that this little baby boy is old enough for school?

Okay, I am done digressing.  But the moment I dropped him off at preschool every single one of these memories started flooding my mind and I was so overwhelmed with emotions.  Time moves so fast it is both heartbreaking and joyful.  I am so grateful that this little baby has grown into such an amazingly wonderful preschooler.

Can you tell how excited he was?  I was nervous for him to go, both because it just means he is growing up and because he often times gets nervous or shy in new situations.  It was such a relief to have him be so excited about preschool though.

I held back my tears the entire drive to the school.  I knew I needed to keep cool while he could still see me and while talking with his teacher, etc.  When we pulled up I saw his excitement slightly melt away and his nerves kick in.  That did me in.  My lip started to quiver.  I had to fight so hard for those tears not to come pouring out.  I reassured him that he was going to have a great day and that I would be back to get him.  He held the teacher's hand and off he went.  The teacher turned to tell me that I could walk him in if I wanted, but by this point the tears were rolling out and he was totally fine, so I smiled and gave her the "It's alright, I'm good"  nod.

Well, I went and picked him up 4 hours later and he was as happy as can be.  He said he had the best day ever, so we topped it off with some frozen yogurt, with sprinkles and gummy bears...yummy.
Image
Don't tell anyone, but I may, or may not have sat on the couch and cried for 3 1/2 of the 4 hours he was gone.  What else was I suppose to do while he was gone and Lola was napping?  Don't worry I have quickly found many, many things to keep me company during those 4 hours now.

Lola Mae Turns One

How is this even possible?  Lola is one year old.  I feel like with both of our kids and with every single milestone, I am amazed and blown away at how fast time goes and how quickly they learn and grow.
We celebrated her actual birthday with Nana, because Nana and Lola have the same birthday!  How fun is that?
Here are the birthday beauties.

One year ago I was nervously and anxiously on my way to be induced and meet this sweet little girl.  I couldn't imagine my life with a second child, or a baby girl, but now I can't imagine it without her.

I lined our patio with pictures of her birth through 1 year.  It was neat to see the transformation.

Lola and Grandma.  Thank you to Marsha for taking on one of my ambitious projects for the party.  I ran out of time so she made Lola's tutu for me!

Lola is such a trooper.  She kept her boa and crown(not pictured) on and never even flinched.  Girly girl at heart.

And just like that she turned one!

Lola Mae you are our sunshine.  We love you and your spunky personality to the moon and back.  We can't wait to see the young woman that you are going to grow up to be.  We are already so proud of you and our hearts are full.  You are beautiful in every way.  You love to give hugs and kisses and that makes us melt.  Here is to many, many more years.
xox,
Mommy and Daddy
