Plastic Shoreline

March 27, 2012

Last year I got to experience the South West Marine Debris Cleanup in Tasmania thanks to Patagonia who got me down there to make a short film on the experience.

In eve of the 2012 cleanup, a fundraiser is on in Tasmania featuring ‘Plastic Shoreline’ –  Cleaning Up Tasmania’s Coastal Wilderness, a the short documentary on the 2011 trip made by Ninna Millikin, with the support of The Bookend Trust and Southern Waste Strategy Authority.

The evening is a fundraiser for this year’s cleanup mission, and the films will kick off  with a Roots-Reggae theme and music from local bands and DJ’s.

Where: Republic Bar – upstairs venue (Hobart, Tasmania)
When: This Friday 30th March 8pm
How much: $10

If your in Tassie, get along and support this amazing not-for-profit initiative.

Small Town Evan

October 4, 2011

Spontaneous getaways are the ones that refresh the constants.

An hour down the road from hometown Byron is Evans Head. A laid-back coastal down of simple pleasures. Surf. Beer. Fish & Chips. Paul McNeil, Tim Manton and Myself thought the long weekend was a perfect time to venture to see ‘Small Town Evan”, and catch up with our mate Matthew Cook, who was surfing in the Evans Head Malibu Event.

It was a few hours of fun. Boys just doing boy things. Sausage Sanga’s, bro in a can, bowling club beers, surfing closeouts, chips with fish, and mucho laughter. We drove home fulfilled. Enjoy the pics.

Matthew Cook or “Cookie” as we call him finished 4th in the Open Longboards and 3rd in the Retro. Good stuff.

It’s always good to getaway. Look forward to the next adventure to see “Small Town Evan”.
