Lyrics – Katakanlah

The next track is a plaintive cry from the heart seeking answers to the question “Who am I?”. In this plastic world where superficial attributes are being used to define identity and divide society, unless we understand that we are but diverse creations of the same God, we will never learn to relate to each other in any meaningful way.

Katakanlah

Hari ke hari ku cari
Tapiku tidak pasti
Seribu malam ku mimpi
Tapi ku belum fahami

Chorus:
Adakahkanku namaku
Adakahkanku kulitku
Ugamaku dan bangsaku
Tradisiku, negaraku
Akalku, buatanku, niatku

Oh Ya Allah
Katakanlah
Ya Allah
Katakanlah

Hari ke hari ku pandang
Tayangan hias bumi
Seribu malam ku kira
Bintang-bintang menawan hati

[Chorus]

Seluruh dunia di dalam
Sebutir tanah pasir
Kecil-kecilan hidupan
Merangkumi semua angkasa

[Chorus]

Jauh di dalam lautan
Rahsia anak ikan
Pusaka lama disimpan
Cantik lagi bahaya

[Chorus]

Lyrics – Dancefloor Disaster

No matter the mood or the genre, the message is still pretty much the same – things are not the way the youth want them to be. So many things are quite badly messed up. The question is, are you going to sit there and just take it or will you stand up and do something about it?

Dancefloor Disaster

You and me, we are the same
Cut from Mother Revolution
Rush the wall, we’re in the game
Stand up for your desperation

Rip it up and pull it down
Cut the cord, and break it

Hear this song we sing in high and equal voices
Hold on to your beat, the streets will sound our chorus
We – will – not – give in to you

Wrap him up and hold him down
We will not be stopped today, No!
Crush his name and burn his crown
Heed this cry, we’re here to stay now

Rip it up and pull it down
Cut the cord, and break it

How did we ever get this far? It’s pulling me
How can we ever heal the scars? It must not be
Can we all decide on what’s right? For us to bear
Do you feel the fire in our hearts? Yeaahhh
We – will – not – give in

Down, down, down, down do it
Down, down, down, down do it

Lalalalalalala…..

Down, down, down, down do it
Down, down, down, down do it

Lyrics – A Heart for Malaysia

Children don’t know about differences in race and creed. Left alone, they can teach us a thing or two about living together in harmony. That is why it is such a delight to hear the voices of children asking us to love our nation as one.

A Heart For Malaysia

Chorus:
Give us a heart for MALAYSIA
Give us a heart for MALAYSIA

Verse 1:
We are the children
Living in this land
Tomorrow and forever
Standing together hand in hand

Verse 2:
We are no different
Like one big family
Together, one heart one voice
“Satu Malaysia!”

Bridge:
It doesn’t matter who we are
Wherever we may be
As long as we share the same heartbeat
Holding on to truths we believe
In one accord
We will sing, we will rise, we will stand up for our land

Chorus:
Give us a heart for MALAYSIA
Give us a heart for MALAYSIA

Verse 1:
We are the children
Living in this land
Tomorrow and forever
Standing together hand in hand

Verse 2:
We are no different
Like one big family
Together, one heart one voice
Together, one heart one voice
Together, one heart one voice
“Satu Malaysia!”

Lyrics – The Snake with Limbs

Babies and little children are able to sense the sincerity of the adults dealing with them. Youths are also able to see through the posturing of adults with hidden agendas. The next track tells those in positions of power to stop pretending because they have been caught out!

The Snake with Limbs

Wipe off all the makeup on your face
Show the world what you are really made of
I swear I’ll find you out, I swear I’ll find you out
I swear I’ll find you out

Tell me if you’ve ever put your hope in something
Real enough that you can feel its heartbeat racing

A momentary failure of silence in your voice
Control yourself, control yourself

Let the poison seep into your mind
Playing tricks on everything that’s left inside
This conversation is going nowhere
Let the curtains fall so they’ll never see you as you are
Light the flames and
Watch this bridge burn to ashes

This is probably
Our final cut

Can you see me walking by?
With hungry eyes and breathing sighs
You’re caught off guard,
Caught off guard

Trapped in a fortress you’ve built for yourself
Playing king and queen and all your loyal subjects
Tragedy behind these eyes leading to your own demise
Gotta get away, gotta get away

Lyrics – F.A.I.T.H.

The 5th track in the Bangkit Collection reflects what’s probably in the heart of every Malaysian. Whatever our fears, real or imagined, we still harbour hope. Because we all (including those who already have or intend to emigrate) love this nation for one reason or another and wish things could be different.

Fear’s Always Imagined to Hope (F.A.I.T.H.)

Look at the skies,
Will you be fooled again?
Clouds of darkness all above.

Now I knew for sure,
Don’t give up hope again,
Breathe, stay alive.

Though you wanted to know,
I can’t give answers,
But I can offer you hope.

Chorus:
Just believe me when I say,
You’ll see that everything will,
Fall to place,
And one day we’ll see the sun again,
You’ll see the sun again.

Dark days befall,
You feel you can’t hold on,
Just remember who you are.

And though they’ll try to burn and break you,
Just know you’re home again,
You’re safe and sound.

Though you wanted to know,
I can’t give answers,
But I can offer you hope.

CHORUS:
Just believe me when I say,
You’ll see that everything will,
Fall to place,
And one day we’ll see the sun again,

Every day keep holding on,
Your faith will show you that it’s,
Not too late,
One day we’ll see the sun again,
You’ll see the sun again.

BRIDGE

Whoaaaa, Whoaaaa.

[Chorus]

Why no comments or discussions?

Half of those who responded to the Poll on whether or not it was a good idea to post the lyrics of the Bangkit Collection thought it was a good idea because people could make comments and discuss the lyrics.

Until now, there has been a grand total of one comment on one song. I don’t geddit!

Come on lah guys, let’s get serious. If comments on a blog osso cannot, then how to transform the nation?

jomBangkit lah!

What do you think of posting the lyrics here?
