Update on the Silver City Beck Clan:
These are some pictures we thought you'd all enjoy, and the stories that go with them. A few weeks before Christmas we had some beautiful weather and I took Anson and Isaac hiking in the National Forrest (yes, here in New Mexico we call that a forrest...) We found some really fun cliffs to climb, and had a great time; and the nice weather has continued this month. We've had several day in the mid 60s (although we did get some snow around Christmas). If any of you get tired of the cold and the inversion, we'd love to have some visitors!great
For Christmas we visited Alicia's sister Marilyn in San Antonio. We had a great time. We spent a couple of days at Sea World, which was a lot of fun. The older boys really loved the rides and all of us enjoyed the dolphin shows. The pictures with Sesame Street characters are from Sea World - I tried to get some pictures on one of the coasters, but unlike Disney World, I guess they don't like that - they stopped the ride and made me put my camera away. Avery also took a pretty good hit jumping on the tramp at Marilyn's house.
This last weekend (Isaac's birthday was on Thursday) we went to Phoenix. On the way we stopped at the Tucson Zoo and had a good time there. While we were in Phoenix we went to the Gilbert Temple open house. We also visited a science center and of course the boys got their fill swimming in the hotel pool. On the way back we discovered Katelyn really really likes dum-dums.
Avery, Anson, Isaac, and Josh all started basketball this last week, and are enjoying that. Alicia is coaching Isaac and Josh's team. Avery and Isaac were both in the school spelling bee and took first for their grades, earning a in school bowling trip. Anson was in the cup "speed stacking" tournament yesterday and did great despite having extreme anxiety set in. Way to go, Anson! Jonathan started primary this month and is still getting used to not being in nursery. In addition to loving dum-dums, Katelyn also adores her brothers. She has also learned to pull herself up and stand as long as she is holding onto something, to growl very well, and continues to make sure we know when she is hungry.
All in all, we feel very blessed and are doing well.
-Jon, Alicia, Katelyn, & the boys
