First Day of School

2nd Grade is here!  Time flies.  Maci is excited for a new adventure as usual and already loves her teacher.  She even got a new haircut.  Doesn't she look so old?!

Also, football season has begun.  Leave it up to Taylin to kick it off with a glare.  This one was directed at our friend, Mckay.  Get him, Taylin.

Then she'll flash this sweet smile like she's loved you all along.

She took the duck down in one motion.  Tackle!
In Maci's words, "She's like a miniature human that does actual human things!"
Image

Paige's cool camera face got rave reviews last time, so I'll post some more just for fun.  You go, Paige.

It's like she's looking into your soul, right?

It's true.  I have funny kids.

Hope you are all doing well!

Catching Up

Hello to all of you lovely friends and family out there who once believed in my blogging future before I stopped blogging for a year.  Funny how life takes over.  I got on my blogs tonight for the first time in months (going on years) and my posting hiatus stressed me out enough to eat this whole bag of pink yogurt covered pretzels.  They tasted like miniature cherry dip cones.  Worth it.

Anyhoo...in case you care,  here are some pictures from our lives recently.

Maci likes waterslides now

Image
This is what I get when I ask her to pose for the camera...this picture cracks me up.  I have about 10 more that are just as funny...but I had to choose

Our recent trip home to the farm...so pretty out there

I'll have to photoshop her face clean

Maci took to driving the tractor like a pro.  She was not happy to have to go in for dinner.

She has a split personality problem.  She's offended many people at church with this glare..."Oh wow, what a cute baby...OH wow..."  followed by awkward, 'why is she glaring at me?' look directed at me.  And honestly, I don't know.  She just feels like it.  She gets it from me her dad.

These are non-edited.  Probably because I don't yet know HOW to edit and I don't have time to learn.  But still, she's cute.  (9 months)

So I hope you've enjoyed knowing that we are still alive after over a year of no blog posts.  And here's to not making empty promises for better efforts to come.  Just trying to keep up with life over here.  :)  Lots of love!!!

Easter and a Surprise!

We had such a fun Easter.  We were able to make a trip to Billings to see our cute little nephew Cruz and Jared's family!  The girls had a blast and we did, too.  (:

Image

Image

This is the confused face.  Wondering why she had to wait to gather up all those eggs!
Image

Yes they have the same face, but they are starting to prove they are different people (a little).

ALSO...for a little (BIG) surprise...

Baby #3 is on the way.  October 29th is the due date!

So it looks like no Halloween party for us this year.  It'll be a different kind of party. (:

Birthday Trio!

Maci turned 6!  (a while ago, but still)

Red Robin has great bday sundays!
Image

Lots of little girlfriends made the party so fun, and they were all so polite.
Image

This picture is so Maci!  Full of personality, spunk, and fun.  I can't believe she's 6!  I am so lucky to have her.  I learn from her every day.
Image

If you've never seen these two play together, you are missing out.  They both have the funny gene and they crack us up.  Sweet sisters!
Image

Then Jared's BIG 30!!!!  Wow.  Look at all those candles.  He requested trifle and we were all happy with that.  We had some friends over for a little party....

Image

...and then the next day was full of surprises.  First a drive to the McCall area for giant tubing hills, hot cocoa and lots of laughs.  Then on to a hot springs with 5 outdoor pools (ahhh...so relaxing).  Then we dropped the kids off to play with cousins while we met our reservation at Epi's, a Basque restaraunt I've been wanting to take Jared to since we moved here.  It had lots of similarities to the food he had while living in Spain (yum!) and the service rocked.
Image

Image

Then came Paige's birthday (seriously Feb. and Mar. are killing me)

She loves the attention!
Image

This cute 2 year old is so funny.  Her funniest quirk?  She steals food and drinks, especially from Maci.  If Maci gets up from her food for any reason, Paige, usually with food still on her plate will rush over and stuff Maci's food in her mouth, and then she'll take off running.  The other day Paige ran over to Maci's plate, grabbed two fists of orange pieces and stuffed them all in her mouth at once...while Maci was still sitting there.  Maci tries to be mad, but it's so funny that disciplining goes out the window.  She's been doing this pretty much since she could walk.  We thought it was a "baby" thing, but apparently it's an "I'm out to get Maci" thing.
Image

She tried so hard to blow out the candle.  She would lean forward, then blow on the way back.  So funny.
Image

And then came the next part.  After the candle was blown out, she got this look on her face like, "Now what?"  Then she just slowly moved toward the cake and took a huge bite right out of it.  This was a funny day.

Our happy two year old!

Phew...we made it through the birthday stretch!  Hope you are all doing well. (:

Two months ago I was in Heaven Paris.

While I was there, thinking about how supported I felt, and how I wished everyone was there with me, I decided to do a little shopping. Paris and all that...

I love you all for asking where you can read about my Paris trip.  You are all so supportive!  The posts are on the DesignSherpa (the lovely people who sent me) website.  http://www.design-sherpa.com/  Click on the "contest updates" page.

Forgive me on the first one...typing on a Parisian keyboard can really throw off my writing style. (:

Also, awhile back I mentioned a fun announcement coming up.  It has been awhile, but I've been hard at work.  Soon I will send you all a link for a new design blog I am starting and am SO excited.  My family blog is fun, but I can't wait for a place to record and share lots of design ideas with all of you, and hear all of your design experiences and ideas as well!  Lots of fun to share and I just can't wait for the exciting things coming up.  Stay tuned.

XOXO

I have to tell you one funny Paige story from today:
We're driving along...we pass the llama farm.
Paige says "Mom, look!  A bunny!"
                  Me, "A bunny?"
                  Paige, "Yeah!  So cute!!"
Me, "Yeah so cute."  I didn't have the heart to tell her.

Also...
Jared puts on his basketball jersey.
                  Paige says, "So cute, daddy!"
                  Jared, "huh?"
Paige, "So cute.  Pretty dress, daddy!"

Kids crack me up. (:

The Holiday Season...a little late

Here's a pictoral review of the last couple months, since I should have been in bed HOURS ago.

My first "writing" check.
It was a good day. (;
Image

Cute moments:  Jared tells Maci a short story in the car.  Maci says, "That wasn't a story.  It wasn't even enchanting."

Paige says...mom...mom....mom....mama...mom....MOM...MAMA!!!!
(all the while I'm saying "what...what, Paige.")
till she finally says, "recess."
She keeps doing this for random words, making no sense in the context.(:

Hope you all had a marvelous holiday season!  Is it just me or is this winter FREEZING!!!
Love you all.

xoxo
