We went trick-or-treating in Tri Cities with Grandpa Gordy this year.  Scott had a football game to coach so he missed out on the fun.  The boys had a blast, and Andrew learned very quickly what this trick-or-treating business was all about.  He was seriously the cutest cowboy ever.  He is bow-legged so when he walks he seriously looks like he just got done riding a horse! :) He fit the role perfect and got lots of compliments while we were out!

Jackson

I've been so horrible at keeping this blog updated! There is probably lots I need to write about but for now I'll just update you on Jackson. These first pics are from a preschool.  They took a field trip to the fire department at the end of the school year.

And here he is at his preschool graduation.  He had so much fun at preschool, and did so well. His teachers had lots of nice things to say about Jackson and what a hard worker he was.

And now, here he is already on his first day of kindergarten!  I spent so many days leading up the his first day, trying to hold back tears just thinking about him being in Kindergarten already that I did not cry once leaving him that day.  :)   His Grandma Roddie surprised him that morning by coming to Connell to take Jackson with us to his first day.  He was pretty excited about that.

In Connell, Kindergaten is all day.  I was really nervous about that and how Jackson would handle it but he is doing great! I think he likes his time away from home. He has lots a friends, and his teacher says he is very respectful, and a good example to the other students.

Introducing...

Image

Owen Scott Forsyth, born July 23, 2011 at 2:13pm, weighing 8 lbs 10 oz, and 20 inches long
He made his arrival 8 days past his EDD, and we are so happy he is finally here.
I had several false alarms with his little man, so when I woke up Saturday morning with contractions, I was expecting them to just go away.  They were pretty irregular, but quite strong.  After a couple hours we decided we better head down to the Tri Cities, because I did not want to labor in the car with back to back contractions like last time.  That was NOT fun! So we packed up the boys, dropped them off with some good friends, and headed off.  Of course, the second we get on the road, the contractions slowed way down.  So, I am getting more convinced this is just another round of false labor. We got into town around 11am, and decided to make a quick little trip to MyFroYo, (because who doesn’t love frozen yogurt?) and then head down to Howard Amon Park and go walking. So we walked nice and slowly along the river while the contractions picked back up.  They still seemed pretty irregular but they were defiantly some good contractions. We walked for about an hour to hour and half, and then headed over to my moms for a bit.  Of course the second we get into the car, the contractions slow down again.  We were only at my mom’s house for maybe about 20 minutes, when I got a really good contraction that came with a very slight urge to push.  I looked at Scott, and said, “call the hospital, we are going in!”  He questioned me at first, thinking there was no way it was time, and honestly, I would have never have thought it was time if I hadn’t gotten that slight urge. I was still able to walk, I was calm, still joking around and my pain levels were nowhere near last time.
So we get the Birth Center, and are sent off to a room to change into a gown and get checked.  The whole time I am praying in my head “please be over 5cm, please be over 5 cm”.  She checks me and says I’m complete!
Scott and I were both extremely surprised by this.  How on earth could I be 10 cm dilated!! The only thing that was keeping this baby in me was the fact that my water still hadn’t broken.
So they send us off into a room, and call the Dr.
My OB was out of town that weekend, which sucked, because he is awesome.  So I got the Dr who I was seeing while pregnant with Andrew, who is not, what so ever comfortable with me attempting a VBA2C.  Good thing I showed up ready to go!:)
He came in, and broke my water, and brought me a VBAC consent form, and jokingly (yet not so jokingly) said I could still sign on the line for a c-section…ha!
After he broke my water, the contractions slowed down.  He leaves the room, and while he’s gone the nurses have me stand up to see if that will get things going.  I am up for about two minutes, when my body starts pushing for me, and the next thing I know, I can feel his head coming.  I look at the nurses, and tell them I am pretty sure he’s coming out! Sure enough his whole head is out.  She grabs his head so he doesn’t fall, and has me somehow roll back onto the bed the deliver the rest of him.  Because he came so quick, she pressed the emergency button to get the Dr into room.  I am pretty sure it probably gave him a heart attack thinking something may have possibly gone wrong! He came in the room just in time to pretty much do nothing lol! The amazing nurses did all the hard work and I am grateful for it.  With my past experience with him, I don’t have a lot of trust in him, although he is a very nice guy, just not a good Dr for me.
I am truly so grateful for the way everything turned out that day.  It was amazing!  Heavenly Father was defiantly watching over us, and added another wonderful blessing into our lives!
Today Owen is now 9 days old and is such a sweet baby.  He’s an awesome sleeper and eater, and is just so stinkin cute!! Being a mother of 4 isn’t really much different than 3.  I was so scared of how things were going to be with him and Andrew being so close, but so far, things have been great.  Andrew loves his little brother.  I just have to keep on eye on him because he doesn’t quite understand what the word “gentle” means.
We have had so many wonderful families here in Connell that have helped us out, brought us dinners, and watched the older boys so I could get some rest! It has been awesome and I am so grateful for all of them.

Its been a while...about 9 weeks to be exact.  You'd think we'd have a baby by now...but he's still nice and snug in my belly! We  have till Monday to go into labor on our own, and if it doesn't happen, instead of cutting me open, my Dr is actually going to break my water, and see what happens from there.  I really hope that we can go into labor before then, but who knows.  I've tried just about everything to get this little guy out and he is not having it.
Image
And here it is...my massive 40+ week belly.  Don't mind the bright light on my face...

Other news...Andrew is finally walking.  He has been for about a month and a half now.  It's so cute!  He has such a massive body, and cute little bowed legs.  Just watching him is entertaining.
Image
He walks around all the time with something on his head.  I don't know why... its pretty cute though.  He 'll even put blankets over his head, so he cant see a thing.  He walks around giggling until he runs straight into the wall!  He is such a goof.

We also have baby kittens.  They are a week old now and are finally starting to open their eyes.  There was a total of 5 but one died during birth, so now we have just four...two black and two orange.  So if anyone want a kitty let us know!:)
Image
And thats about all the exciting things happening in our life right about now...
so we'll finish with some pictures!

31 weeks

Image
Its hard to believe I have only 9 weeks to go till this little man arrives.  This pregnancy has flown by. I haven't even really felt pregnant till recently...Im guess its because I still have a baby that has kept me busy, I haven't even had time to really even think about being pregnant. Surprisingly, this has been my best, and easiest pregnancy.  I have always exercised while pregnant, but never consistently.  This is the first one I have literally worked out 5-6 days a week, every week, and it's amazing how much better it has made me feel.  I usually suffer from horrible, constant back pain while prego, but this time I only get it occasionally. I am still able to run (its very slow though), do burpees, normal pushups, and even a few unassisted pull ups with all this extra weight. And while I thought for sure, my weight gain would be very minimal with all this exercise, and eating well, it still seems to be packing on.  I guess I'm just meant to be a chunky prego girl! :)
I am hoping it will all come off quickly though. Now, I am just waiting for the nesting to kick in...I have got so much to do before the baby arrives and no motivation to do it!

P.S.  Andrew still is NOT walking yet!! We need some prayers please, I can't carry two babies around! :)

Old McDonald had a Dairy Farm

Image

The last two weekends we have taken the boys down to the Hadley dairy farm.  Jackson absolutely loves the animals and wants to "be a farmer" when he grows up.  Joshua was scared near to death on his first outing but now feels comfortable around the calfs and lambs.  Being accustomed to city life I (Scott) had to get my hands a little dirty.  Wearing my tennis shoes and gym shorts Matt had me get a newborn calf and carry him to his new pen...I frankly looked awesome undertaking this manly task and had matt take a picture (above).  After getting the calf Jackson helped Matt feed the calf with colostrum.  Jackson, with the guidance of Matt stuck a two foot metal tube down the calf's mouth and helped squeeze down the calf's food (below).

Image

After feeding the calf colostrum Jackson clipped the chain on the calf's collar inside his new home.  We also passed out bottles for the many other calfs that were housed in various white huts.  I hand fed one calf (again I looked awesome performing this manly task).

It was a good experience for the boys to see where their food comes from, to see what work goes into running a dairy.  Below are some other pictures of our time on the dairy.

April Update!

I, Scott Forsyth am writing a blog post for the first time! Andrew and I recently celebrated birthdays.  Andrew's birthday was March 23rd.  Jessica baked him a cake all for himself to eat.  He did not know what to do.  He would take his little fingers and scrape off some icing to eat, not realizing that he had the ability to dig in.  He figured it out soon enough.  Jessica purchased Andrew a ball popper machine that would shoot plastic balls into the air.  This pleased Andrew.  Every time a ball would pop up he would grunt in excitement...see top right picture in the collage.

Image
A week later we went to Eatza Pizza to celebrate both Andrew and I's birthdays.  We all ate ridiculous amounts of pizza and enjoyed eachother's company.  Brett and his family was there, Kyle and his family was there, along with the Shanley family, Trevinos, and the McGills.

A week later we officially celebrated my birthday at home.  We had haystacks for dinner with Reese's covered brownies and ice cream for dessert.  Jordan and Kristen Trevino came over for the festivities.  Jessica and the boys decorated the home in Giants paraphernalia, there was a Giants balloon man at the door, black and orange balloons filled with candy (used as a makeshift pinata), and a big sign that said HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!  It was fun to have good friends over for my birthday and to have a little fun.

Image

What else is there to comment on...Jessica continues to be pregnant.  She is such a beautiful woman.  We went to the temple the other day together for the first time in a while...She always looks so beautiful in that building.  She also continues to impress in other things...for instance...

Image

Pretty impressive for a pregnant woman!

We have decided on a name for the new baby boy.  We are going to call him Owen John Forsyth.  Middle name could change...but for now, that is the name.  If you do not like it, sucks to be you.  Alrighty then! Adios mi amigos!
