Nail Glitz is now open for business!

Hey ward friends! Anna Bingham here. I just finished nail school at Marinello and I have started doing nails out of my home. Here are some of the nails that I offer and a little description of each.

Gel nails- I love gel. We can make them as short or long as you want. I love to do nail art or designs. I will try anything.

Glitter nails-Tthese are all sparkles. They are like glitter toes except on your fingers.  Fun for little girls too cuz these can be on your natural nail or we can add some length.

Image
Glitter toes- This has been the big thing. These babies stay on your toes for months. This client wanted me to paint zebra stripes on them.

Personal Progress Retreat 2010

Image
Do you know how wonderful the Suntrails Ward Young Women are? How sweet and funny and valiant and virtuous these girls are? Spending an hour or two in their presence will give you a hint of their amazing qualities, but spending 24 hours at a cabin, away from the distractions of the world, will confirm that we have some of the best in all the world.

Last weekend marked our first ever Personal Progress Retreat. We drove to a cabin on the south shores of Bear Lake Friday evening (after stopping to eat dinner and for shakes at Le Beau's).

Image
After unloading our gear in a torrential downpour, we settled in for story time with Brother Bingham, who read us Tiny Snail. We talked about perseverance and taking things one step at a time.

We worked on a few of the Personal Progress value experiences and set goals for what we wanted to achieve over the next few months. We laughed and giggled, we ate, we stayed up waaayyyy too late playing marathon games of Phase 10, progressive rummy, and nerts. And when it was all over, we came home a little happier and (hopefully) ready to tackle Personal Progress and move toward earning our Young Womanhood Medallions. Our only regret is that not all of the girls could make it; they were sorely missed.

A shout-out and great big thank you goes out to Brother Bingham and Brother Rebeterano, who accompanied their wives as our priesthood watchdogs. They endured a cabin full of giggly girls and may have induced a few of the giggle fits themselves (*cough*Ray's funny story voices*cough*).

Aerobics hiatus

Just to let you all know-Aerobics is taking a hiatus until further notice. Michelle's little baby takes her nap at 9:00 and that was when we started during the school year so unless more people want to start up with me (It was only Michelle, me and Charlotte Duncan for the last little bit) we will be taking a break until further notice. Thanks-and if you want to join us when we start up again we'd love to have you. I've been teaching a few days a week so it isn't just old boring videos.

Youth Video Night

Last Tuesday night the youth made a video of a familiar Book of Mormon Story, “Nephi and his brothers getting the plates.”  As you might expect this version is a comedy.  I hope you like it!  You can watch a tiny version here or watch it much larger and even download a copy on the website.  There are also a few still images and a couple of other comical videos videos.  Enjoy!

Snowshoeing & Corn Maze

Image

A few weeks ago the priests went up to Snowbasin for a fun day in the outdoors.  We were a little short on snowshoes so Tyson only had one shoe and I had none!  As long as I brought up the rear I was able to stay afloat most of the time.  :)

Image

We had a ton of fun that is well documented in the rest of the images so check them out here.

Last October the combined youth activity was held at the corn maze that was also a lot of fun!

Strange things happen out in the corn.  Check them out here and here.

Youth Sledding Activity

Image

The YM planned a killer sledding activity in Washington Terrace.  It was a great place with very icy (very fast) conditions.  :)  I’m not going to put a lot of pictures in the post because there are so many really fun ones.  You can find some that Tyson took here and some pictures and some videos that I took here

Jana is slammed with school right now but we’ll update this post later with her pictures when things calm down for her a little.  Enjoy!

Giveaway Winner

Thanks to everyone who entered our Merry Christmas Giveaway. Although we were happy that so many people entered, it made us a little sad to know that none of you have had portraits taken in over 5 years. Hopefully that will be something your family will be able to get done soon, even if it’s not by RJ Snow Photography. Portraits are something that last forever and take you back to the memories of the time they were taken. They remind us of who we were, our children’s personalities, what was going on in our life at the time, and give us feelings of love for one another.

But…how about the announcement of the winner?? We assigned each person an integer based on the order they entered the contest. Then we used the Integer Generator at Random.Org to make sure the winner was, of course, completely random.

ANDREA ANDERSON!!!

She had told us when she entered that she was praying that she’d win. And she did! We decided to run the Integer Generator one more time just for kicks and guess what? She won again! Rob double checked other number combinations just to make sure it was working correctly and sure enough, it was.

So Andrea, we’re so happy your prayer was answered (twice) and are excited that we get to take your family’s portraits.

Thanks again to everyone!

A Merry Christmas Giveaway

Obviously, photography is very important to me and Rob. We love capturing our family’s love and smiles. We enoy doing this for other people as well.

We realize that getting family portraits taken can be a difficult matter of time and money. So for RJ Snow Photography’s Christmas Giveaway, we’re offering the following:

  • FREE 1 hour photoshoot for a family, individual, a group of friends; anything goes. Whatever we can fit into that timeframe.
  • FREE retouching of your favorite images.
  • FREE (web-sized) copies of your favorite images.
  • Prints at a special reduced rate.

Stipulations:

  • We’d like to offer this to someone who really needs it so we’re limiting it to people who have not had professional portraits taken in the last 5 years.
  • We reserve the right to do all printing. We want to ensure that you get wonderful prints and that is the best way for us to ensure high quality.
  • The photoshoot will need to take place in January or February of 2010.

Just send us an email at [email protected] and let us know you’d like to be entered in our giveaway. The deadline to enter is January 3rd at midnight.

Gingerbread House Contest

For our young women's activity this past Tuesday we decorated gingerbread houses and we thought it would be fun for the ward members (or anyone who wants to) to vote on which one turned out the best. Please leave a comment with your vote and we'll let you know who the winner is next week sometime.

Aerobics Breakfast

I just thought I would pass along the word that we are having a potluck breakfast tomorrow November 25 at 8:30 am in the church gym instead of having aerobics. It was a lot of fun last year and we thought we would do it again this year. There will be no workout involved, just eating and chatting. Bring the kids and something to share for breakfast!
(This is not just limited to Suntrails. All you Greenleaf people are invited too, or anyone who used to be in the ward but has moved out we would love to see you.)
