Baby Talk

As I was reading a friend's blog I realized I haven't really blogged about the little bean.  Our little bean is doing quite well as am I.

Here baby's stats so far:

7 weeks  - it's a baby! hearate 174 very lively.
15 weeks - heart rate 155
19 weeks - heart rate 156
21 weeks - heart rate 145
26 weeks - heart rate 150's, passed glucose, head down
28 weeks - heart rate 150"s, head down
30 weeks - hear rate 140's, head down

I have been able to feel our little bean move and groove since about 18 weeks.  At 19 weeks we had the Big ultrasound.  We aren't finding out again with this little one.   I know, I know annoying but fun!  Little Bean looked great he/she had a chubby little tummy and from the profile looks like Lincoln.  I think I look at these pictures every other day.  I am trying to figure out if it is a he or she but alas I have come to no conclusion. I have tried to be a lot healthier with this little one in ways of eating and excercise (which has fallen off the radar).  Lincoln loves to pat my belly and he can't seem to make up his mind whether boy or girl either.  I am starting to see the baby actually punch/kick my stomach. This is mainly in the mornings and evenings though baby is getting more active in the afternoons. This is one of my favorite parts of being preggo.  Unlike Lincoln this baby sits on my bladder and I am not a fan.  I feel like I have to run to the restroom every hour and I already feel like I waddle.  Baby is constantly on the right side of my belly in a little ball. Eating well.....I eat all the time always have preggo or not.  Cravings at first were salads, fruit etc. and still are but I am craving sweets a lot.  I love using Lincoln as an excuse to go get ice cream, he LOVES ice cream.  It usually becomes our after school snack at least once a week.

Lately  at my appointments the baby is always head down.  I have a lot of heartburn with this one too!  Anything that has tomato in it I know to make sure to take my tums before bed time.  Spicy food gets me too, so I try to not eat as much but it's SO Hard.

The nursery is slowly coming along.  Probably won't be completed until end of January.  So more to post on that because it is also our guest bedroom.  I hoping before Christmas so....cross your fingers.

one year...really just 6 months

Man, I have never been more anxious to write this post.  Things seem to be moving along at our house. I love it when we get to do things to our house.  It drives me bananas that I decorate/design people's living spaces and I can't do my own for various reasons.  However, with a lot of prayer my business is picking up which means more gets done on our house.

Kelby has really been working hard.  He has painted doors, fireplaces and has helped prep walls and he really hates to paint.  He always tells me that I am way better at painting.  So besides all the painting of items we are finally getting a mirror for our almost complete guest bathroom, yay! I am hoping to get it by the end of the week. Then the vanity is going to get a little faux paint job and then it will be complete.  Next, we ordered pendants for our den.  I wish I could get a picture but the company is not online. They are very simple clear glass pendants with round bulbs.

I have been working on completeing Lincoln's bedding.  I was super excited and sad that I found at Broomcorn's closing sale more fabric that matched his sham. With the extra fabric I found at Broomcorn I made Lincoln's bedskirt which was completed tonight.  I am thinking new storage for his toys that just hang out, new light fixture and possibly window treatments.  One day his bedroom will be complete.

And lastly Kelby ripped down all the paneling in our guest bedroom.  Our house is pretty noisy and paneling sure does not help, especially when guests want privacy. Of course rugs would help solve the problem as well but we decided sheet rock and some insulation would be great. The paneling is everywhere den, hallways, kitchen and guest bedroom (until now).  I have some paint colors in mind so hopefully I will be selecting one soon.  We are definitely still going to have to get a rug and since I do what I do selections are in the process.

 Nursery Room #2!

Yes, you read correctly there is another "bun in the oven."  We are very excited and obviously trying to get some things accomplished before the next little one arrives.  Baby #2 (the bean) will make his/her debut January 2014.

Blog Schmog

I have had a debate with myself on numerous occasions to stop blogging.  However, then I start reading others and realize I do have stories to tell or to remember.  So today as I read such sweet stories and got to see such precious photos I realize I do want to keep blogging.  I am going to find some time to sit down take some time for myself and blog.  It might not be the best blog but I am going to do this.

So I will begin with a blog post title that I thought to write while Kelby was overseas....

Japan-Shman
This was to be about of course my 3 weeks minus the hubby who was in Japan.  It really wasn't too terrible, Week 1:great, Week 2: not-so great, and Week 3: descent but utterly exhausting.  Kelby had a wonderful time trying new things and seeing some pretty amazing things. As most wives whose husbands have been gone awhile I was super excited to see him.  He brought home plenty of little treats for both Lincoln and I in pretty little wrapppings.I am saving the wrappings for someone's special birthday or maybe Christmas, who knows.

Before Japan it was London and well I fell off the face of blog world on this.  I forewarned any who read that this blog might take awhile, 5 months later awhile,ha.

Good-Bye London & Hello France
So last I left off was the Victoria & Albert Musuem, I think.  And....once again it is a must see.  I really can't remember in what all order we did things from here so just bare with me.  This might just be a lot of pictures.

Image
On my list of must sees, The Tower of London.
I was a big fan of the Tudors and of this time period in general.
Fasinating. And the jewels, oh the jewels.

I was with a group of Kelby's co-workers this day.
We walked all over the place and it was so nice that everything was somewhat close .
Next and a short distance from Big Ben was Wesminster Abbey.

Beautiful Wesminster Abbey.
Unfortunately we missed the last tour guide.

Next we took a river boat ride on the Thames.
This was Tower Bridge at night, what an amazing site.

Well, Hello Paris is just going to have to wait until next blog.
Sorry for the tease but this is about all I am up for tonight.

London again

So last I left off we had gone to Trafalgar Square.  The rest of the week I felt like I went a million places with another lady, Linda.  I was much more into the history, architecture and museums and she was more into shopping.  Now, don't get me wrong I wanted to shop as well but it is not as fun when you are converting pounds into U.S dollars.  I personally recommend you not to do this it puts a damper on things, ha!  So here we go....

Monday - Linda had mentioned the British Museum because this was her son-n-laws favorite museum.  Given I was going to be in London longer than Linda I was pretty much game for anywhere.  So we hopped on the Tube (Mind the Gap), and headed towards Russell Square.  Let me just tell you that I loved walking in London because every building is AMAZING. The Bristish Museum was a wonderful museum and you could spend days in there.  We planned to go to the areas we really wanted to see, since we were more than likely not going to spend a day there.  We stopped in a little Scotch shop which I quite possibly could have spent a lot of "dough" there.  They had a wonderful wool polka dot throw, a fantastic winter hat and great scarves.  Alas, again in the back of my head I converted and the "dough" was a lot.  So we maneauvered back to our Tube station and headed to Camden Market.  I really wish I had taken pictures of this, it was definintely a sight to see.  I really can't explain it, I guess because it was odd to me.  We ate lunch at The Elephants Head pub, where I had a tasty falaffel and then we hit up a street market.  I found a great scarf there and little tunic top for descent prices. We shopped there a bit and then it was time to head back to our hotel.  If I can remember correctly this is the night we ate dinner at a place called The Pheasant known for there fish n'chips and meat pies.  It was descent food but like most London food, it was bland.(maybe I just didn't get the right thing)

Tuesday - We headed to Victoria Square and our first stop was the Victoria & Albert Museum. One of my favorite museums.  I loved that as soon as we got off the Tube we walked underground into the museum.  This museum is just full of really great furniture, fashion, jewelry, rugs, collections of boxes, silver etc.  REALLY COOL (a must see), they even have a great gift shop where I purchased a necklace. Then we just kind of walked around the corner onto Knightsbridge where the infamous Harrod's was at.  I couldn't really phathom what Harrod's would be like until I walked into the mecca of anything designer.  There was every kind of level you could think of fashion for women and men floor, luxury items, purses and shoes galore (Manolo,Louis Bouton,Jimmy Choo) you name it and it was there.  I just drooled over all the fashion designer shoes and clothes.  There is even a food market, chocolate, champagne bar and much more it is insane!  Since we couldn't afford but some lotion there and a few things for Lincoln we decided to head out.  I got lost just trying to get out of there.  Knightsbridge is a great shopping area with shops that are a little more affordable. But alas I just bought be a good 'ole Starbucks chai latte and called it a day.  Unfortunately, I only have one picture from the Victoria & Album Museum.

This was in the Asia area.
It is sketches of a facade.
I loved them and wished I could bring them home and frame them.

I see London, I see France

A couple of weeks ago I got the opportunity to join Kelby in London while he worked.  It was a wonderful trip, perfect for a little break from parenthood, work etc.

My journey started with a flight to Dallas to drop Lincoln off with his grandparents.  I then sat in DFW for 5 hours which actually went by faster than I thought.  I took care of some work, had a drink, read some of my book, had a drink, getting the picture...Finally I had  what you would call dinner and then decided it might be time to go to my gate.  I still had about an hour before they started boarding my plane so I played some games.  While playing my game I decided my hands were really dry and needed some lotion.  So I take my rings off set them in my lap while applying.  In the meantime my phone rings, it's my mom just checking in before I leave the country.  While on the phone I noticed I do not have a lot of battery and should get off to charge my phone.  So I get off the phone and dart towards a the closest plug.  Well....remember me taking my rings off and setting them in my lap! Yep, you guessed it they went flying.  So I realize my finger is ring less and dart towards where I was seated.  I found two but not the other (insert queasiness). This sweet family and I looked for 20 minutes pretty much up until we boarded.  So I text Kelby, let him know that I lost it and then boarded a plane for 8hrs.  Not the way to start a trip and let me say i didn't sleep a wink. I did watch Pitch Perfect which helped me have a few giggles through the loss of my ring.

The trip did get better, I arrived safely and Heathrow was a madhouse.  Kelby and his friend Tyson luckily found me and we headed to the hotel.  We stayed close to the airport because Kelby and his co-workers had to stay near the station.  Basically we went in, I took a quick shower got dressed and headed to my first premier league futbol game (soccer).  It was pretty cold that day and we mainly walked outside, I had frozen toe syndrome and so did Kelby.  The game was a blast and exciting.  The chants and dances the crowds were doing cracked Kelby and I up.  They loved this one player and he had a chant of his own," Jimmy can do whatever he wants, he can score whenever he wants," just imagine that in a song version.

On Sunday before Kelby and I had to work we went to Trafalgar Square to the National Gallery Museum and Picadilly Circus. We walked down China Town and hopped in some little fun shops, hit the red light district ACCIDENTALLY and then stopped into a Comedy Pub. Most of the days in London were not sunny but even if they were right around 3 it started to get dark. These photos below aren't great, I took the wrong lens for our camera.

I am going to do this in two parts, maybe three. 1. Because my computer loads pictures S.L.O.W
2. Sometimes you lose readers if too long (I am one of them) 3. It makes me have to blog, I am a terrible blogger.

What A Year 2012

I don't think I could thank all the people who made 2012 such a wonderful year for us.  Even though there were ups and downs there always will be and that is just how life rolls.  It definitely kept Kelby and I super busy, having a two year old, buying a new home and much more in between.

I kept pretty busy as far as work goes, thanks to friends who have turned into clients.  They have kept me from being bored and allowed me to help make their homes beautiful.  I can't wait to post some of their homes on my local business facebook page.  I love my job and can't say that enough! On top of work buying our new home has had to be a favorite this year.  I love all the room we have and I love being able to actually decorate my home how I have wanted for a long time{i am a little more impatient with my own}. I also kept busy with JLM community service project Lester.  I love my placement and this is my second year of doing this.  Lester is just like my second family here, I have enjoyed getting know the families more. And lastly our busy little guy, who seriously can't sit still for very long.  He keeps me on my toes and I think my in-laws and parents now understand why I am so...tired.  I love my little man to death. He makes me laugh, cry and mad but that is how it should be! I see bits and pieces of both myself and Kelby's personality coming out in him.  I always tell Kelby that the "drama king" in Lincoln is all him!

Kelby got to do some international travel this year and will continue to do so this next year.  This past year he traveled to Canada a couple of times and then in October to Sao Palo, Brazil for two weeks.  When he wasn't traveling he trained for the St. Jude marathon.  This wasn't his year has far as time for the marathon but to me even trying to run one is a feat.  This was Kelby's second, he ran the New Orleans Rock n' Roll with our friend Jamie in March.  If he wasn't traveling or running he was here at home helping me work on our guest bathroom, painting, working on the pool and yes some relaxing.

Well as you know Lincoln is a busy little body.  The first of 2012 wasn't very fun for Lincoln but it definitely got better.  He had ear infections and then  for most of February and March was sick.  It wasn't until after we got back from the NOLA marathon that we found out our little guy had RSV. Yuck!  Luckily for us he was only out of commission for a week, unknowingly it was probably 3 weeks.  However, he bounced back and before we new it he turned 2.  WHAT A CHANGE! He has grown so much this past year he really isn't our baby anymore, he's a little boy. No more baby chubs! Long legs, big feet and big kid toys and attitude!ha. I can't really pick out a very favorite time but I will say this fall was pretty fun.  He now is getting the gist of things Halloween CANDY, Thanksgiving GOOD FOOD, and Christmas SANTA, GIFTS and RUDOLPH.

So here are some pics from 2012.
