Who am I?

Who am I? A friend said people need to know me.
Well, I'm Appalachian, from Pikeville, KY. I'm an (amateur) folklorist with a huge interest in all folklore, including folk stories. I started with Bullfinch in the 1st grade, and read everything, including hearing native-american stories from my Sioux uncle, and my Cherokee grandmother.

Adopted into a Cherokee tribe, I use my tribe name of 'Kantuck Atsilawesa' translates roughly to 'Kentucky firecat.' Although fluent in Cherokee, I cannot write it very well but I try and studying to correct this problem. It's only in the last 20 or so years they started to actually teach young children reading, writing and speaking Cherokee; so I missed out that.

I also went though all of H.G. Wells works, with Verne, Doyle to the 20th century science-fiction greats like Asimov, Heinlein, David Brin, Clarke, and Poul Anderson, as also an avid comic collector (around 5,000 books by my estimate -- anyone want to help me catalog it? ouch...:).

One type of SF really caught my attention, which started with Wells "Island of Dr. Moreau" is Uplift. Mearly a fun thought, until a friend brought me into the anthropomorphic community (AKA: 'furry community') that exploded in my mind, and I started working on a storyworld that deals with uplift.

Now my writing, after 10 years is becoming very unique. A mix of Appalachian, Native-american, folklore, sapient uplifted animals, and Science fiction. With a smattering of LGBT, and strong female themes.

So I welcome you to my world.
