Ugly Sweaters
Ben and I were invited to an ugly sweater party last night.
We had so much fun shopping at the D.I. We were laughing so hard while we were shopping for our ugly sweaters!! I kind of felt bad because there were all of these employees putting out ugly sweaters and we were just busting up laughing the whole time! But we sure had a great time shopping for the ugliest sweater possible.

An Early Christmas
This past week has been a very eventful week. On Tuesday some of my friends threw me a baby shower and I was so grateful to those that came! It was so great to see some of my old friends. I got a lot of great stuff that I really appreciate it and I am sure that when our baby comes she will be really grateful as well.
Friday night Ben and I went on a date to the David Archuleta concert. That's right little David came all the way to cold Rexburg to do his Christmas concert and it was heavenly!!! We had so much fun listening to his sing and listening to all of the screaming girls! He really does have a gorgeous voice. We also really enjoyed David's opener Benton Paul!! I had never heard of him before but he was an awesome entertainer as well as an amazing singer!
Saturday morning we headed down to Syracuse, Utah to have an early Christmas with Ben's family. We had such a great time with them. We went out to dinner at Tenpinyakis and it was wonderful!! Then we came back home and had a Christmas program that was great. We were able to reflect back on the past year and see how the Lord has guided us. Then after that we opened presents. We are so spoiled we got these two beauties from Brad and Jan
This is a video camera!!! We were quite surprised! I thought it was so funny when Jan said that this was a selfish present because the mainly bought it so we could record the baby and they could see her more often! So cute and such a nice and thoughtful gift! I know we were super duper surprised!!
I was so excited about this baby. It is a pack 'n play that will most definitely get used. Another great feature is it comes with a bassinet! When we get it all put together I will have to post some pictures but I am super excited!
Ben got me a rocking chair that I am so excited for and I will have to post pictures once we get it put together.
This is what I got Ben for an early Christmas present...these cute little pajamas for the baby. She is going to look so cute! Ben was SUPER excited as well!
This is a picture of Ben and Trey getting ready for church. Trey loves Ben so much and he loves to shave with Ben. I am so excited for Ben to be a Daddy because he will be such a wonderful dad. He is always playing with Trey and so patient with little kids. It makes me kind of jealous because my nephew Corbin likes Ben more than he likes me. But I am excited for our little girl to come.
Well that is an update on our crazy life.

Gobble, Gobble
Our WONDERFUL Thanksgiving break consisted of these things...
Getting rid of this nasty, ugly, mustache
This incredibly ridiculous movie
{but I did have fun hanging out with my siblings}
Yummy homemade doughnuts...I have missed this tradition a lot

Many hours of this ridiculous game...trust me it gets addicting...
Just ask my hubby who played it for 6 hours in one day!
Many hours, laughs, and scowls of a game called "Cover your butt"
A FANTASTICALLY wonderful Thanksgiving feast with the Calls
Ben going out for his first time on Black Friday
{I heard he was a natural}
A very CELESTIAL morning with Calls in the Bountiful temple
{Thanks again Crystal for letting me borrow your dress}
Many funny moments playing this game
{Jan you were by far my favorite to watch}
Watching this wonderful game from the comfort of a couch
Go Cougars!!!
But I think that my favorite thing was spending time with these guys...

Thanks family for letting us bum around your house for over a week. We very much appreciate it and had SO much fun with you all!

Can I just say that I am excited for thanksgiving break!! Not that I am in school or anything but I am so excited for our Thanksgiving feast and to spend time with my family!! We are leaving today in about an hour and that means we have a whole week to spend with our families!!
I am excited to go to the New Moon movie with my sisters and Ben and then go and eat at Five Guys...yummy delicious burgers...both me and the baby LOVE them! I am excited to go to the Temple with Ben's family and see his sister Kallie go through the temple for the first time!
But I am especially excited for Thanksgiving. I LOVE Thanksgiving. These last three days I have had visiting teaching interviews and in between interviews we would talk about Thanksgiving and our favorite parts of Thanksgiving. If you think about it Thanksgiving is really a funny holiday...we sit around and stuff our faces....but man do I love it. I am excited for yummy homemade rolls and stuffing and turkey! My three favorite parts of the feast!
Well happy Thanksgiving everyone and enjoy stuffing your faces (i know I will)!

Mario & Luigi
Ben and I had a lot of fun this Halloween compared to last year. I still remember last years Halloween because it was so pathetic. We were newlyweds and Ben had a couple of tests to take that night so I sat home alone last year. Not fun!
So this year we decided to dress up and go to a couple of parties. Friday night we had our ward Halloween party. Now unfortunately, I couldn't wear face paint or cross dress so we dressed up as Maria and Luigi (it was a great way to use my belly...Mario is short and stubby...and that is how I feel right now). We had a ton of fun at our ward party.
This is a picture of our neighbor's little boy. We think he is such a cutie and you should have seen him getting his grove thing on at the party. He sure does know how to dance.
Then Saturday night we had a party to go to with a bunch of friends that we worked with from the summer. So this time we really dressed up as Mario and Luigi...face paint and all!
We had lots of good Halloween food and played a lot of good Halloween games....but the fun ended when they put in a spooky, creepy, scary Halloween movie. I am a chicken when it comes to scary movies so we left because I was jumping and yelling, and to tell you the truth Ben didn't really like the movie either, and came home and watched LOST. Which in my opinion was much better. I am just not a big fan of those scary movies....they creep me out and give me the heebeegeebeee's!

Something is Growing....
On Ben's face!!!
When we decided what our Halloween costumes would be I told Ben to hurry and grow a mustache. Unfortunately that was on Sunday night and his hair didn't hurry up and grow...so I think we are going to have to use a little face paint to enhance poor Ben's mustache.
Thankfully he can shave it off after tomorrow night! I really don't like mustaches because...
1. they itch like crazy when I kiss my hubby
2. And to be completely honest I think he is much more "handsomer" without the facial hair!
But at least he was a good sport and was willing to grow a mustache just for me!

Things to Do
One of my friends a few days ago told me about a blog called Make it and Love it. I started browsing this blog and found a link on how to make/decorate baby wipe cases. I thought, "that looks easy enough", so I went to the store and bought the things I needed to make a wipe case for one of my friends who just had a baby shower. And Voila...
Easy as Pie (even though pie really isn't easy to make)!
Just don't look too close or you might see all of my mistakes!! :o)

When bordem gets the best of you
Well recently I have been bored out of my mind. I am on the substituting list and every once in awhile I will get a job. So what do I do with the rest of my time you ask?
That is a good question. Sometimes I browse a lot of blogs...I know pathetic, but I visit a lot of blogs in a day. One day while I was browsing blogs I saw this super duper cute idea to make a wreath out of candy corn.
Now I am not a very crafty person, but I looked at this picture of the wreath and thought, "I could do that". So I went to Porter's and Walmart to buy the supplies that I would need. Then all day yesterday I sat at my table gluing candy corns onto a Styrofoam wreath and this is how it turned out
After I made the wreath I told Ben we needed to buy a wreath hanger. He told me that we didn't need to waste out money on that when we could just use one of the hangers out of our closets...I thought oh yeah sure that would NEVER work, but he showed me wrong.
Here is our beautiful wreath hanging by a hanger from our closet!!! Thank goodness for an economical husband!!

Now that I am done with that I am thinking that I might start sewing again. I bought this really cool pattern the yesterday and am excited to try putting it all together and sewing it...I am not sure how this will turn out because it has been FOREVER since I have sewn from a pattern...so I won't tell you just yet what the pattern is. I will wait to see how this first project turn out...wish me luck!

The Verdict Is In
We went to my first doctors appointment about 2 weeks ago. Everything went really well and the doctor told us I was about 20 weeks along. So when I called my insurance company wondering about a few things they told me that if we had conceived in May that nothing would be covered. Well I started stressing out and really worrying (because that is what I am good at). When we told the doctor this she said that we should schedule an ultrasound and they could tell us for sure when conception was and everything like that.
So yesterday was the ultrasound date. We went in about 10:30 and the ultrasound tech told us that we have a healthy baby GIRL!!! I was so excited because I have been hoping for a girl this whole time. BUT I had prepared myself for a boy because I dreamed that it was a boy and I figured that since I wanted a girl so bad it would be a boy.

After that they started talking about conception dates...the tech told us that according to the measurements of the baby it looked her due date was Feb. 19 and that would mean that conception would be on May 29!!! I couldn't believe it! Two days away from June 1st and I would have been covered. But then she told us that we should talk to the doctor and maybe he could change it. So in came the doctor and he told us that 2 days really didn't make that much difference...so he put down on our records that we conceived on June 1st and that the due date is Feb. 21...which means....I am covered by my insurance!!! You have no idea how relieved I was. I am so grateful that it was so close to June and that we had a great doctor to work with.
Now I can just be excited about my little girl.
It was such a neat experience to see her moving around on the screen and see her little face (even though she looked like an alien)! We are both so excited and can't wait for February! Now we just have to decide on a name...wish us luck!

Our Life as of Recent
We are FINALLY home!!! We made the great drive across the U.S. from St. Louis to Utah and then on up into Idaho. It is so great to be home again. I missed being home and close to family and it is so GREAT to be close to them and visit them more often.
Before we headed up to Idaho for school we spend about a week with our families in Utah; it was very much needed.
While we were at my house my sister Michelle and her husband Stephen were sanding and painting all of the new furniture they got.

After spending a few days with my family and having tons of fun painting and sanding down furniture, boating and water skiing we headed up to Syracuse to visit Ben's family. It was so great to see them. We had a great big BYU party with lost of YUMMY food and watched BYU kick Oklahoma's butt! It was such a great game. Then on Labor Day we went to a park and had a picnic and played tree golf. This has to be one of the funnest games I have ever played.
On Tuesday we headed back down to Spanish Fork for my Great-Grandma's funeral. This is a picture of my Great-Grandma and this is how I will always remember her...working hard out in her yard.
She was so sick and worn down by the end of her life. But I am so happy for her. She finally gets to be with her husband again. She has been saying ever since Grandpa Scott died that she wanted to go and be with him...well now she is finally with him. I am just grateful to know that families are forever and that I can see her again if I live worthily. I love you Grandma and I sure will miss you for now!
After the funeral we headed up to Idaho and started moving all of our stuff into our apartment. It was so nice to finally be in our own home. Derek my brother was so nice and came up to Idaho to help us move in our things. We really appreciated his help. Then this past weekend we headed back to Utah for my brother Derek's mission farewell. While we were there we went to my brother Jared's soccer game. Ben and I both love watching sports...good sports...so to watch Jared's team was a lot of fun for us. Here are some pictures from his game.

These two pictures are of our nephew Trey. He is the cutest and sweetest little man! We don't get to see him very often but when we do it is so much fun. He has been learning sign language and so when we see him we usually learn a little bit of sign language too. It is really cool because he can't talk yet so he talks through signing. It is really neat. But we love seeing our family and being around them again.
Then on Sunday we were in Spanish Fork again for Derek's farewell. He did such an awesome job and will be a fantastic missionary. He is serving in Brazil and both Ben and I are so excited! We sure will miss hime while he is gone but we know he is where he should be. We wish him the best of luck and send him our love!

This is Kaylee messing up our shade. For some reason she decided she was going to tilt the umbrella...poor Ben spent the rest of the game trying to fix the umbrella!

After the soccer game we headed up to Syracuse to visit Ben's family for the day. We watched the BYU football game and watched them slaughter Tulane! Go Cougars!!! While the football game was going on Jan, Crystal, and I were canning peaches and peach jam. I have never had to work so hard for my food in all of my life. I had no idea there was so much involved in canning things. By the end of the day I was exhausted and so were my feet. Lets just say I appreciate my mom, grandma, & mother-in-law a lot more now!
