Bauman's Cedar Valley Farms - GARNETT, KS - Family farm-based non-GMO feed mill.
The Baumans bought 180-acre Cedar Valley Farms in 2001. They raise pastured poultry and eggs employing organic practices, along with 100% grass-fed beef, and operate the only USDA-approved and certified poultry processor in Kansas. Due to faith practices, the Bauman family uses telephones but not the Internet. In the crowded online marketing world, they are unique – the Baumans deal primarily face-to-face.
Rosanna Bauman, the farm’s operations manager, writes a weekly column for www.Amish365.com. You can read all of Rosanna's wonderful work at www.amish365.com/category/plain-kansas/

Kaw Permaculture's 14-Week Design Course Starts Feb 6, 2014
Kaw
Permaculture’s
Spring 2014, 14-Week PDC
A Certified Course in
Permaculture Design.
What
is
Permaculture?
Permaculture =
“Permanently Sustainable Culture”
“A
design science
that uses natural systems as the model for creating productive
systems with
resilience, diversity and stability of natural ecosystems”
A
paradigm embracing
a biognostic worldview, creating ecologically sustainable human
environments,
practicing ways of living in harmony and deep connection with
the diversity and
abundance of life on the planet.
It
is a philosophy of
working with, as opposed to against nature, using thoughtful
observation and
skillful means to utilize and mange natural resources, animals
and plants to
generate a highly productive system that benefits the whole, as
opposed to
short term gain single product system.
Why
embrace
Permaculture?
Permaculture
is a Revolution
disguised as Organic Farming.
”Time
and again Biointensive
organic food production has been proven to generate as much as
five times more
than modern industrial agriculture, a system which is dependent
on large fossil
fuel inputs.” Vandana
Shiva
“What
permaculturists are doing is the
most important activity that any group is doing on the
planet. We
don’t know what the details of a truly sustainable future are
going to be like,
but we need options. We
need people experimenting in all kinds of ways and
permaculturists are one of
the critical groups that are doing that.”
David
Suzuki
“Be the Change that you want to see in the World”,
Gandhi
